My TOP TEN stadiums in Japan | The best places to watch J.League football ⚽ 🇯🇵

These are my top ten football stadiums in Japan! Since starting to ground-hop around the country in 2018, I've been to 41 stadiums all the way from Hokkaido in the north down to Kyushu in the south. These are, for me, the best places to watch football in the J.League

Call me biased but my top one is to go to the NACK-5 stadium haha. But I will admit the nicest stadiums in my opinion are Kitakyushu because of them being right next to the water and Matsumoto plus Nagano Parciero because of the beautiful mountain background. Didn't know all that about Shimizu. Pretty cool. Great vid and please stay safe man👍

Nack5 is a great stadium! Brilliant match day atmosphere ⚽ 🟠 Kitakyushu's stadium looks really cool, too. I can't wait to get to a match there. Apparently the ball sometimes ends up in the ocean because the stadium is so close to the sea! Thanks for comment and support! Thank you! And thanks for the question! The Devon Derby at St. James feels a little bit dodgy because the stadium is surrounded by houses. But we usually beat them, so it's worth the trip 😉

Your top two (no spoilers here!) were two of only three stadiums I set out to visit in the early parts of this season but Covid-19 has put paid to that idea! Hopefully later in the year or next season! Interesting to know which non-J stadiums you've also been to. Looking forward to the expanded top 20 stadiums of your choice in the future!!

Once?!! "If" may be more apt! Can't really see this season starting and to be fair there really is not so much pressure (sponsors aside!) to as only one round of games played in Japan thus far!

Nice informative guide. Wish I had this when I visited Japan back in 2009 and 2010. I ended up going to see FC Tokyo and Urawa at Ajinomoto stadium. Got a FC Tokyo jersey, cap and scarf so I guess they are my Japanese team but I still would like to visit some of these teams for some away fixtures. :)

Which teams do you think that have the most powerful supporters in J league? Can you rank them?

In my experience, I'd say these are the top 3: 1. Urawa Reds 2. Gamba Osaka 3. Nagoya Grampus But keep an eye on the channel because I plan to make a video on this at some point with more detail

So I've visited Japan a couple of times and I've been dying to go to a football game. Which team in Osaka or Tokyo do you think has the most inclusive supporters? I really want to attend a game but not have to worry about anything else lol

In Tokyo, I'd say both FC Tokyo and Tokyo Verdy are very inclusive. FC Tokyo has a a group of international supporters who go to every game. And when I went to watch Verdy last season, they had signs up saying "We Welcome Everyone". So you should have a great time at both of the main Tokyo teams! As for Osaka, I don't have as much experience of watching their teams. I've seen Gamba Osaka a couple of times, and the atmosphere was fantastic. Plus their home stadium is incredible! But unfortunately I haven't seen Cerezo Osaka play yet. But football fans across the board are usually really welcoming in Japan. I've been to countless games over the last few years and haven'd had any problems. It's a great experience watching football in Japan!
