I dont understand how people can say that Eminem "doesnt say anything and only rhymes good". Like wtf, did you actually listen to what he is saying? Walk on Water was full of his deep thoughts and people hate on it. He is mixing good rhyme structure, flow and content and ppl say it's corny. But hey migos is better because??? What are they saying? Right. People trying to talk Eminem down because he is in your favorite rappers top 5 and you dont want that.

Big time. He really took the piss. “That’s how you grow” Like Eminem needs this jackass to grow. ⅔ reviewers burnt Revival because they didn’t like the beats (agreed, go away Rick Rubin) but mostly because they didn’t relate to the themes. A lot of hip hop fans can’t take it when mature and personal shit goes to the lyrics, you need to be agressive or brag. That’s super narrow-minded and really limits the art. Walk on Water lyrics are just unmatched in that realm of hip hop, full of self-awareness, brave and very relatable to anyone trying their best in their art. The fact this didn’t go appreciated is just sad. Really it went over most people’s heads. Because when you get, you just know what happened. For the political side, that’s how hip hop grew late 80’s / early 90’s, don’t see the problem of being political now. Unless your reference is Migos and Lil Yachty and then indeed, talking about serious stuff that is not ice, bitches and dough is boring. Just going over your head once again.

@OccumsChainsaw4 жыл бұрын
Dej Life Chronicles To keep it real with you, personally, I DO care about when others critique rappers. The ones I listen to, at least. (I listen to stuff like; J.I.D, Token, Busta Rhymes, Childish Gambino, Run the Jewels and NF on top of a crazy amount of other genres and bands.) Yeah you have the free will to speak you mind on an artist but so does everyone and everyone has different taste. Critiquing is not a job. Not when it comes to music. No one person’s playlist is better that than others. Music is too subjective to rank one song over another. The classic “Who’s your favourite band/artist?” Differs from person to person. Anybody can claim they know what is “the best” regardless of how much knowledge on the topic they have. Em isn’t any different. Some like him, some don’t. If you want to rank people, you have to go by majority vote. If an artist is “Overrated”, in my eyes he’s just too well known for people to accept. Sorry for the long comment, just needed to state that Em isn’t the “Be all, end all”, but he is still worth listening to.
@Fuetre4 жыл бұрын
@@OccumsChainsaw you act as if they're critiquing the artist overfall. they analyze and interpret individual songs and see them for how they are. they even say they enjoyed his old stuff, but they aren't afraid to give their opinions on stuff even if the psycho stans will demonize them for it.
@OccumsChainsaw4 жыл бұрын
Drew KZbin can be difficult at times, hard to project feelings through text. I don’t comment much. I’m not fully sure what my exact thoughts were at the time of this post but looking back, I’m trying to say that it’s ok to live with the duality of liking a famous artist while caring for others at the same time. Maybe I got heated because the first words out of the dude’s post was “critiquing is a job”. I just find something that humans do subconsciously 24/7 is not a job as those that get paid are better than other’s, creating division between us. To sum it all up, if the Black man’s music is better than the Asian girls, or vice versa than we are never going to become better as people. I’ll admit, I get choked up at times when trying to voice my opinion around “psycho stans” but it’s either this or nothing and I just refuse to live quietly. Don’t want to offend anybody, just stumbling through words to help try and get everyone on the same page, whether mine or someone else’s. If I am wrong, constructive criticism is welcome.

I realize this is only a reaction video, but for I'll explain for those who don't know. At 8:47, Eminem employs a metaphor to suggest that his albums are high quality compared to mainstream, as a porterhouse is a premier, short loin beef cut. However, this is not the way his latest works are perceived by the people, and he’s comparing the way a client would not be happy with just having a SLIDER-a miniature burger/bun-as their meal, to how the listeners were disappointed by his works. At 9:25. The media appears to be a regular target throughout Kamikaze as a whole, particularly radio personality Charlamagne tha God who publicly criticized Em’s BET Cypher and also named him one of the worst artists of 2017. Eminem is angry at all the critics saying Revival was a failure when he knows they didn’t fully understand what he was putting down. He often writes lines with triple or quadruple entendres that no critic seem to mention or care about. He knows they aren’t listening and catching his complex rhyme schemes, and if they understood what he was doing they wouldn’t be saying he’s lost his touch. Its not that hes not owning up to it, or blames people for his album being trash. And lastly, not cause you missed it but its quite a bit of info on why Em hates Charlamagne. At 11:20 Charlamagne specifically criticized this bar in Eminem’s BET cypher: "Racism’s the only thing he’s fantastic for ‘Cause that’s how he gets his fuckin’ rocks off and he’s orange Yeah, sick tan" Here, Em is making a play on words comparing Donald Trump to the “Thing” from the Fantastic Four comics and related media. “[F]antastic for” is a clear play on Fantastic Four, “gets his rocks off” is a euphemism for an orgasm and a play on the fact that the Thing is a rock monster, and the Thing and Donald Trump are both shades of orange. However, Charlamagne called this line a reach as he felt that The Thing was in fact “a yellowish, beige color.” Em sarcastically suggests that Charlamagne is colorblind and gives examples of equally false claims about the color of particular objects. Just wanted to share, I was bored.

Dude on the right hates Em. You can't criticize an artist for being "him" which seems like you were doing, but that's what you're good at like Em said. Thank Em for your almost one million views on this video. Revival was a mature and storytelling album addressing today's societial issues, but since today's generation are more tuned to "childish" and mumbling crap, he is mocking today's generation music with their style and flow, while having great writing plays. Pretty genius to me if you ask me.
@mannylopez87486 жыл бұрын
If your'e an Eminem fan you should know that all of his old music tops all of his new music. That should be clear as day. No one hates Em. Em quoted himself he's just "rewriting the same old song", with a different girl on the hook, that's why they have no replay value. And it seems like every time someone critiques Em, a stan whose living in the past gets in their feelings. If it's not trash then it's recyclable.

So it's very obvious that Eminem is not your favorite artist, especially you George. You guys say "unbiased reactions" however you have your favorite artists (ie. Logic) and when you react to their music it's so obvious you are biased to the the artist even when the song isn't that good and the content has less meaning. Even when the lyrics don't compare to a song you liked before. You say "Unbiased" yet you review MGK's "Rap Devil" before you reviewed "Not Alike" and that was the diss MGK responded to. Come on guys. I rock with the both of you however ya'll should reconsider using the phrase "Unbiased Reactions".

After this song, they haven't done a reaction on Eminem's songs because he came at them in the song (the guy with the spectacles basically) and they are not getting as much views now. LOL. Em proved his point.

5:13. This is exactly why Eminem is struggling to be the old or new Eminem as he said in an interview. If he does something new, people want the old Eminem. When he does old Eminem, people whine that a grown man can't rap like that. Make up your damn mind!

Dude, as he says himself, noone is harder on him than himself, and he holds himself accountable for every album he puts out. I never saw an artist critique himself nearly as much as Eminem did.

But for real tho Eminem is a legend and his skill is no question one of the best so seeing him channeling all that into this brand new album is finna be fire. I understand if you only want to do one song and listen to the rest in your own time but if you get the chance you should react to "Fall" the song where he flames everyone. I believe on some versions the title is misplaced but the song has Bon Iver on the opening so you can't miss it. It's a crazy track and I think you'd enjoy it! But thank you for this! Love your breakdowns as always! PS: If you wanna listen to a conceptual song of the album check out "Stepping Stone"
