Ellioteaster was fighting Askgar from the level 2 when he could die very easily. But he survived and was gaining experience from each fight. They have met on the battlefield so many times! It was the fight between two of them
@Zebo123456783 ай бұрын
I loved how Askgar and Noinfo worked so well together for quite some time, betfore Askgar, the offensive master, split up with Noinfo, leaving Noinfo, the defensive master to guard their town. Then Askgar went on a solo crusade to try to conquer the world. Ellioteaser studied their opponent, engaging in a number of battles, and nearly lost their life several times. They would move on to train their body and mind against bandit armies, claiming artefacts and experience to be used to eventually defeat Askgar. It would take Askgar many more kills to level up than it would for Ellioteaser, who gradually caught up to Askgar's power level. In the end, Ellioteaser accomplished the impossible, slaying the vicious and decisive Askgar with their array of magical talents. Shortly after that, Noinfo, having lost their fellow champion, set out to exact his revenge. Through a series of skirmishes, Noinfo intended to rid Ellioteaser of their forces, thinking to overwhelm them with sheer numbers. Ellioteaser predicted this, and called upon Armageddon. After all, even with Noinfo's incredible talent and thoughtful strategy, they are no Askgar. Without towns to collect levies from, they would be forced to meet Ellioteaser face to face. And though it was a well fought battle, Ellioteaser proved that even an underdog can grow to overcome the most capable marbles. All bow to Ellioteaser, Heroslayer Archmage.

@@Priste441 Askgar were blue, and did the exact same thing as Ellioteaster in previous war along with his two survived comrades. For me, he is a martyr and a tragic hero, because he lose his king and take revenge on the whole yellow kingdom, and then were forcefully called by the Yellows to fight on their side, soon killing his past king himself - this is a very cruel irony, and got killed basically by his copy. Ellioteaster gave the Askgar, great and mighty hero of his kingdom, a dignified death, finally freeing him from the bonds of the Yellows and giving him eternal peace after all his suffering and struggles.

God. Askgar. That last sequence. A hero in chains, bound to fight for the enemy he once stood against. Glutting himself on the power of the children of his former comrades. Struggling against his binds, sabotaging the efforts of yellow till the end. Leaving himself open to blows, and never quite catching up to the wizard destined to slay him. It feels poignant. Locked behind the mask of control. Staring down Ellioteaster, who had fought a guerrilla war against the remnants of yellow. Dying to the mage's hand. Finding peace at last, and dying a just death to one that could have been a friend. There is honor in that, at least.

Well there was certainly a story to see here. The one that came to mind for me was this one. The kingdoms in their endless battles against each other eventually discovered the art of summoning past heroes to their realm, and at first this gave them substantial further strength in their battles against their foes, but it turns out some times some 'heroes' are best left in the past. Askgar seemed just another summon as others, perhaps a bit stronger and wielding an unusual Halberd for weapon, but what past hero was completely normal? Though noinfo was available on who had done the summoning of Askgar, some say it was a powerful Captain who was usual at their side guiding their every step. Though for how powerful this Captain was Noinfo remains on them except the legends from the few survivors as their Kingdoms records and King were lost as they burned from an invading army. And it was with this destruction that the hidden secret of Askgar came to light, where once they were just a hero, now they became a force of destruction. Becoming an enraged figure of destruction they tore vast lines of destruction through enemy ranks, stormed villages and castles and slew the kings, their guards, everyone. And at every step of the way the Captain with Noinfo surviving was there to further increase the destruction. It was then in the ruins of Kingdoms, with the dead piling ever higher and Askgar apparent aim to bring all to destruction that the Grand Mage Ellioteaster saw through the Captain of Noinfo plan with Askgar and in desperate battle after battle tried to whittle down their forces and learn of their weaknesses. Many times only barely escaping from Askgar deadly blows with their mystique arts and cautious approach, Ellioteaster finally found a way to undo this horror from the past once more. In a grand final battle 1 on 1 they brought them down, where after they quickly rushed after the Captain before they could gain access to more mystical resources and complete their mysterious plan. And while with their defeat in a final great battle peace was at last achieved. The cost was truly great all the armies of the Kingdoms were annihilate, as were all the towns, cities and castles. The many battles had taken too heavy toll on them all, leaving them but ruins of their past selves. But at least now the scattered survivors would be able to start the long arduous path to reconstruction. Now that the wraith of Askgar was no longer amongst the lands seeking their never ending revenge on those who destroyed their kingdom. Let this be a warning to all about the dangers of summoning such past powerful figures.

I think one thing that might make this more exciting from the start as opposed to when theres a high level unit is to have each kingdom get a random global perk and negative trait thats always in effect. Like +muster/-atk or 1% chance to spawn higher level/whatever would balance that. Having kingdoms that have different traits from the onset would make it easier to pick a favorite from the start 😁 but great work either way!

SPOILER ALERT The Kingless Askgar was born at 32:55. The Blues remembered their hero and greeted him at 36:19, but he did not hesitate to attack his former allies, destroying them. After some time, Askgar attacked the blue Castle. When he killed King Gunner Sexton 7 at 48:52, the still fragile mind of Ellioteaster, who had lived in this world for only 7 minutes 25 seconds, was not ready for this. Ellioteaster's next encounter with Askgar occurred at 54:47. He opposed Askgar and his friend Noinfo as part of a large and very experienced army, but it failed, and Ellioteaster managed to retreat in time. After the next meeting at 1:00:06 Ellioteaster became the last hero of the blue times of the blue king, as everyone else was killed by Askgar or Noinfo. In their next battle, which took place at 1:03:01, Askgar almost killed Ellioteaster, only one blow separated him from victory, but Ellioteaster again managed to retreat. After that, several more fights happened between them, but the smart brains of the wizard Ellioteaster helped him understand that it was not worth fighting with Askgar and he retreated after the first blow that hit him. However, everything changed at 1:09:16 when Ellioteaster went 1v1 against Askgar and managed not to get hit, taking him down. "You were supposed to bring balance to the Force, not leave it in darkness!" - Ellioteaster shouted at the grave of the famous former hero of the blue

My only "complaint" would be "past heroes" not lining up with their colors. Like I get if it runs out of that color cool, but I would like to see the first hero of Red to be a past red hero. (especially if they have a bad wrap like this one getting a "better" hero vs just getting one while winning) Other than that? Loved every second. Was really hoping for a yellow win but I'm satisfied with what happened.

Personally, I wasn't really a big fan of the "revive a hero" mechanic. Firstly, it really throws off the balance early on; even though it could potentially be used to allow a losing kingdom to have a clutch comeback, here it was more used to create overpowered armies that were able to decimate entire kingdoms with their level advantage. Secondly, at least for me, a major part of these videos is the story. I love seeing the rise and fall of heroes; their rise to power, reigns of terror, narrow victories, and tragic downfalls are what keep me invested in these videos, and seeing some marbles just able to fast-track a large portion of that story just feels kind of cheap to me. For basically this entire video, i was just hoping for the new marbles to be able to take down the past heroes, regardless of what kingdom they were from. However, this hatred for revived marbles, in a way, created the story of this episode for me. To me, Askgar was the villain. They cheated their way to the top by abusing their ability to spawn in with the advantage, and used it to effortlessly take down kingdom after kingdom, city after city, unable to be taken down by anybody. Ellioteaster was the underdog. They witnessed their entire kingdom massacred by Askgar in battle after battle, just narrowly escaping each time with their life. But each time they learned. They leveled up, and eventually, they were able to use their repertoire of abilities to finally take down Askgar in a final 1 on 1 battle. Were those abilities perhaps a bit underhanded? Probably. But when you're up against someone like Askgar, sometimes you gotta play a bit dirty to win.

Don’t get me wrong I love seeing the old heroes come back to fight but I feel it was kinda OP. I think it would be better if the returned heroes had a limited number of fights like 5 or something and then they retire. Maybe levelling up gives them another fight or two. It would provide more opportunities for other heroes to emerge while also providing a strong bonus to the team that gets them.

Class idea: assassin it deals more damage to hero’s, captains, bandit bosses, and kings. Paladin: wilds a shield and a mace it has a weak heal ability. Crossbow men: stronger than bow but longer reload time. Priest: it doesn’t do damage instead when it touches an ally it heals them. Golem a large bulky slow hard hitting unit can’t be heal by other units it has a slow regeneration. Fire wizard: shoots fireballs ice wizard: shoots an ice ball instead of area damage it slows the enemy units around the blast area. Necromancer : when it kills a unit it turns it into a skeleton it keeps its it can’t level up

I would call askgar the lost marble. He had a partner in war he fought with to the very end with and being sommoned to this foreign yellow kingdom... he is lost, deceived by captain Noinfo with the promise of his brother. And when askgar slew everyone in his way, there was no brother. Lost once again as Noinfo hid away to rebuild his kingdom. Ellioteaser a blue mage could've just been trying to convince him to stop, as a mage he could bring askgar's brother back. Story wise I dont think ellioteaser killed askgar, just calmed him down, and promised to kill Noinfo the deceiver. In which he did...

I can’t believe I’m saying this but mages were OP- not in large group fights but simply too good as duelists due to the yeet barrier. Combined with new retreat rules and it was impossible to quickly kill a high level mage before they could run away in the endgame- as evidenced by a single mage slaying the greatest hero in game history. Not sure what the fix is here, but it’s probably related to the yeet barrier.

I suggest that when the archer reaches level 5, he can change his profession to a sniper (can penetrate obstacles and hit the enemy 100%, and the rate of fire is extremely fast). When the magician is level 2, he can learn ice storm (slowing down enemies), when he is level 4, he can learn pyrotechnics (instant burst damage), and when he is level 5, he can learn thunder and lightning (causing continuous damage in an area for a fixed duration). When the priest is level 3, he can resurrect companions who are equal to or lower than his level.

Whenever a marble touches the 4 borders of the arena, it performs a check: - Has the retreat time threshold passed? (it's about 10 seconds, increases over time) - Is it low health OR is the enemy force overwhelming? - Are there no enemies very close by? If those conditions match, it will retreat.

This is a substantial improvement over the last few Marble Kingdoms. Marbles are able to grow into higher levels, so we can see high-level combat. Upgrades are not so scarce. I didn't like watching for 40 minutes without a single upgrade before. Special units finally make a reappearance! It looks like town units like archers and berserkers were tweaked to actually do something, but not so much that they're unconquerable. Good to stay in this range. I think this creates the healthiest dynamic where we can see massive battles, plenty of wild action, and everybody still feels like they're contributing to the end goal. My only concern is "reviving a hero from a previous war." I wonder if maybe that should be an upgrade unlocked after 20-ish minutes; it gives armies time to cultivate their own heroes, and means that armies that have fallen behind by having all their heroes killed can get a significant boost. A big issue with past episodes was when a kingdom couldn't get any of their marbles past level 1 because they kept getting mowed down, and spawning a level 3 or 4 marble can give them enough protection to stay in the game. I think the Kings should have enough intelligence to NOT come out of their castles and fight on the grounds outside; it's less maneuverable, their own units can't form a wall against enemy units, and they just get pecked and chipped until they die. By my count, 3 of the Kings died just because they threw themselves at the enemy. I don't think that's the expected behavior of the commanding unit, and it kinda breaks immersion to think of every King as suicidally dumb. Just applying some minor tweak to behavior to keep them closer to the throne makes sense to me. Spawning a Level 3 Kingsguard hero from the past as an upgrade is too strong. Askgar made Yellow the favored winner right from the start. Then again, I can't complain, Blue got 2 level 3 Heroes put in the same army, which massively amped up their war power. A level 5 Mage is busted, but for how squishy they are at the start, I don't really mind it. I finally get to see high-level Mage combat, and it's glorious. It felt like taking down a boss when they went 1v1 with Askgar. Which is another point: I like when the boss units don't "spawn in" like in 20's Bandit King. I prefer when the marbles are able to "grow" a boss with a combination of upgrades and experience.

Fr the kings were dumb this time perhaps if the kings were as strong as they used to be it might’ve been fine but now they weak. And tbh the kings guardsmen r still fairly weak if u think about it a level 9 kings guard died to a level 5 or 6 I do believe. Which is plain right out crazy. And yeah I understand summoning them at certain levels is crazy for summoned hero’s. But it’s not like they are summoning level 9 archers, level 10 spearmen etc I think the bonus heroes are fairly balanced cause in the end it’s all almost rng

I don’t think it’s that the level 5 mage was busted, I think it’s just that the new retreat mechanics favoured long ranged units too much.
@Nepycros3 ай бұрын
@@alvinchen9655 I do think it'd be fair to keep retreats capped to the same edge of the map that your army spawned in on. Being able to dip out any time you touch A wall is too much. I do think being able to retreat on low health makes sense, though.

I agree with the kings thing as well as the reviving hero timer. The only thing I disagree with you on is archers: they do pitiful damage, cannot support their troops, and shoot like they’re blind. Here’s a rough guess on how to fix it: - somehow make them aim a little bit better - make both sides of castle walls shootable through from defending side - make the arrows slightly larger, like x1.15 - have higher level archers have some sort of rapid fire effect OR become a crossbow archer, with increased damage and accuracy - just increase their damage. They should not hit a lvl1 unit like it’s nothing, yet an equal level mage has homing, multi-shot, and increased damage (I’m not saying they should be on an equal level, but 1 mage should not be 15x as good as 1 archer of equal lvl) - finally, add increased movement speed when they get into close combat. Nothing much, but a minor adjustment. Also, hammer guys are a joke. I have NEVER (in 20+ videos) said that hammer guys/blacksmiths are good units. Just give them more health, really make them the tank they need to be. Alternatively, give them a little bit of starting armor. They just need that extra push to be like a barbarian or knight. Edit: sorry I didn’t clarify, the archer should have some of those upgrades. All of them would probably be too much, but I wouldn’t be too surprised if it isn’t 😂

@@Nepycrosit was really unfair when the super strong units got low on hp after an arduous battle, and then they, or the opposing army, just decide to leave. It doesn’t feel rewarding to have fought the battle despite having made significant progress because it’s all taken away

19:00 Timm is a very different type of hero; he likes to take things nice and slow, picking his foes apart carefully. He rarely (if ever) overextends, always ready to shift back to defense in an instant. He understands that as long as he remains alive, eventually his foe will inevitably fall.

He sort of reminds me a little bit about The Legendary Yellow Commander. Yes, he isn't a commander, but he persists till the last man and for his fallen comrades. Even though he is slow, he remains to be a tank. Quite opposite to the Yellow Commander since hes able to move with grace and skill with armor on.

Maybe a good idea would be to introduce the simulation in phases. For example you could have the first 5 or so minutes be collecting outposts, with walls that prevent armies from going to any castle other than their own. The next phase could then introduce unaligned armies as a "commoners uprising" type of event, or just waves of bandits. You could even switch these two phases, where the first phase has a bunch of bandits roaming around and the main armies are attempting to kill them off, so that in the next phase they can claim outposts themselves. Finally an all out war phase can start where armies can attempt castle sieges. The phases themselves can be kind of anything, just the ideas of a phased series of events is what i was going for.

A new Marble Kingdoms can only mean one thing: new legacies to be made. Or, in this case, the enhancing of legacies from episodes past. Marble Kingdoms 22 brings with it some MAJOR additions and reworks. There are three in particular that I'd like to emphasize. First, retreating has been reworked, and it's definitely for the better. The marbles can now retreat if they're low on health in addition to the usual scenario of being overwhelmed. While it won't help a marble who gets one-shot, wounded soldiers now have another out if things get uncomfortable. However, this pales in comparison to the second big change: HEROES FROM PAST EPISODES CAN BE SUMMONED! This is an upgrade that can randomly appear in the upgrade dropper, and it has the potential to completely upend the game and allow past heroes to enhance their legacy. In fact, this episode will show that in spades. The third and final change is an overhaul to how the Mage class works. Mages now start with a homing barrage of three purple bolts and obtain their other abilities through level up. And, yes, this also had a major effect on this episode. This episode has three marbles who really stood out from the rest, and the new changes played a big role in those three joining the Marble Kingdoms Hall of Fame. This is the MK22 addendum to the hypothetical MK All-Stars episode: Mage Ellioteaster, Level 7 (The mage rework would come into play big time, as Elliot would single-handedly dominate the final stages of the episode and secure Blue's victory, much like a certain Green trio in MK21. Elliot took full advantage of the rework, as his homing purple bolts laid waste to countless Yellow soldiers and bandits, while his repel spell allowed him to keep a safe distance most of the time. His greatest accomplishment was taking down the reborn Askgar after a drawn-out chase between the two God-like heroes. He would then pour salt in the wound by claiming the head of Captain Noinfo, Askgar's right-hand man, in the final battle. Considering that Askgar and Noinfo are both in the running for most dangerous marble ever, defeating them both makes Elliot one of the greatest heroes in MK history on its own, and the rest is icing on the cake.) Reborn Kingsguard Askgar, Level 9 and a twice-over Kingslayer (The past heroes upgrade made a BIG impact on this episode, with Blue Kingdom in particular running rampant with their reborn heroes. However, it would be one of Yellow Kingdom's reborn heroes that would turn the episode on its head. Askgar was an absolute madman, soloing armies at a rate not seen since Drewdrinks, the GOAT himself. He and Captain Noinfo took a page from Zaria's playbook and executed an assassination run on both the Blue and Green Kingdoms. Askgar would then decimate Blue's f___ you army of reborn heroes. Unfortunately, the one that got away would cause his downfall. Askgar and Ellioteaster would engage in a long, drawn-out, and bloody chase that would ultimately result in the mighty Kingsguard's defeat. A tragedy of the highest order, and an unfortunate end to the biggest comeback of the episode.) Captain Noinfo, Level 7 (Askgar was legendary on his own, but he was blessed with a sidekick who was also legendary in their own right. The mighty Captain Noinfo stood at the side of the reborn general through thick and thin, no matter how dire the situation. It says a lot that Noinfo survived BOTH assassination runs, withstanding overwhelming odds by the skin of his teeth as Askgar claimed the heads of the Blue and Green Kings. However, after that, Noinfo was ordered to defend a stronghold while Askgar chased after the remnants of the Blue Kingdom, a decision that may well have lost them the war. Askgar would fall in battle to Ellioteaster, and then Ragnarok was unleashed upon the land, sealing the Captain's fate. Much like last episode, the Yellow Kingdom was thwarted by an unexpectedly powerful force in the endgame, and Noinfo would be the last one standing, eviscerated by Elliot's blinding magic.)

little criticism i don’t really like how easy it is for mages to retreat in this version (ellioteaster ran away from askgar like 6 times it was infuriating), especially because of how easy it is for them to snowball now with the nukebuff they got I’m thinking maybe make the retreating a lot less lenient to prevent stuff like this (also swords and shields can block a marble from retreating and that’s annoying)
@lostmarbles2d3 ай бұрын
Yea it's a tough balance to strike. The current implementation is that you can only retreat if there are no enemies nearby (in a certain radius around the marble). The difficulty with balancing this is that if it's too large, lots of would-be heroes end up dying before they can retreat, and you don't get epic heroes by the end. I do agree that it's a little bit too strong for ranged heroes at the moment, I'll think of some ways to improve that a bit.
@thesharpestknife3 ай бұрын
I think the reason this became a problem is the strength of the knockback spell, which meant that Askgar could never get in close to finish him off. In my opinion, the retreat mechanic seemed quite balanced in all the other situations.
@bepisman33853 ай бұрын
yeah i guess the mages in general are just dumb considering they get homing projectiles that do way too much damage and a defence tool in a series where the marbles already don’t hit each other too often

Man, the ending was powerful. It shows some real post-war landscape. Chaos emerges as gangs of bandits and peasants invade the lands. Kings are dead and their men rally together for revenge. Noinfo and Askgar hunt down all the Blue Captains. Then Ellio finally kills Askgar after a series of dangerous encounters. But Ellio went too far in his revenge, he prayed for a chance to face his last enemy and gods tricked him into causing Ragnarok as an only opportunity to fight Noinfo
