New Subscriber. Really love what you did to your truck. Really would love to swap out my rare drums and get the disk brake. Really love that air box you got in there too. I’m considering putting a turbo on my rig too. We have the same truck with the 3RZ engine. Only difference is mine came with the older engine with the distributor. I’ve been watching the guys from SHED KING KZbin channel and really would love to get my rig set with the turbo. Love with you did with yours. Respect to you from Guyana 🇬🇾 South America.

I have a 2nd Gen Surf: 3L manual. Got it in a bit of a sorry state. Been sinking all my spare funds into mechanical repairs. Lots of work to go, new paint, get the sunroof working again, and a list of mods as longs as I am tall. Probably five years of work in it. I wonder if I'll still be married by the end of it 😜

i’m looking for the front differential auto locker on amazon like you said but there is a 7.5” and 8” which one fits

Are the auto diff locker very noisy in normal driving been looking into them for my surf but im not sure. And do the pardo diffs fit the 2nd gen

The auto lockers don't click under normal driving with the 3rd gens. The vacuum actuator disengages the driver side. So under normal driving (2WD selected) the front left wheel is still connected to the diff and will spin the front shaft but doesn't affect 2WD drivability. The auto locker will affect anything at speed in 4WD though. Prado diff won't fit the 2nd generation chassis. Its just too different, however I believe there are kits out there potentially in the states that allow for a conversion

when you did the Prado rear axle swap did you use the Prado rear upper arms as there a different length from the surf ones and change the pinion angle

Yeah, I dropped the surf axle from the axle end and rolled it up to swap everything over. Didn't know they were slightly different lengths though, glad I kept the surf ones in there then.

A pretty rough 18 Lph. Could potentially get it down a little with new rings etc as the truck has done 370,000+kms
