We use a plug-in electric fireplace in our bedroom! It does use some electricity, but we have not noticed an increase in our bill. We use it to knock off the chill before bed and during the day if needed and it has helped tremendously! I turn it on in the mornings and it is so, so cozy!

I think you will find that your kids are a lot more comfortable with driving with all the gaters and quads. My family also used church parking lots to practice in before we got on the road, having an empty space or an acerage for those first few lessons is so helpful.

My youngest child is 11 and my oldest grandchild is almost 9. I spend a lot of time with my 7 grandchildren (youngest is only one month old). It is a blessing having my grandchildren right on the heels of my younger children. I never really went through a strong yearning for more children since we are experiencing two chapters of life at the same time. I love watching the dynamics between my younger children and their niece and nephews. God has continues to bless us with lots of babies to love on.

My Mom and oldest sister in law were pregnant at the same time, so my nephew is older than I am by 2o days. We grew up together and all through out school everyone thought we were brother and sister. He always thought he should be my uncle since he was older. I truly love your family and am so happy that your life keeps moving forward with God. Your new home is just beautiful and even more so with it being full of children. A house is not a home without love, and yours is truly full of love. God Bless you in this wonderful season.

Good to see you now advertising mobile phone service for children and youth. It was always disconcerting when you talked about your kids being out driving without gps, and sometimes being lost. And it was really scary when Sarah and Noelle were out on the streets in Japan with no mobile phone. Really glad to hear that you are being more proactive in providing communication services for your kids when they are not at home. In the old days, we always carried coins for the pay phone, and they just aren’t available anymore.

I often thought about what it must be like to be the father like Solo in this situation, so I am not surprised to hear that he expressed the realistic responsibility about the care of all the children and his family, not to mention animals. I'm sure it's a lot to carry, so I respect that and admire him for his courage. It is a realistic and responsible concern, so I am glad he mentioned it.

Awesome video! This was definitely fun. You have excellent plans lined up. Hand stripping a cow before attaching the machine generally helps with milk flow. I don't know if you got the strip cup, but if not I will still encourage you to get one. It's very good for catching possible problems early. It is somewhat common for milk cow farms to have a wet nurse for their calves. It usually works just fine, so them nursing each others calves isn't particularly surprising. You discussed difficult road conditions previously. Now I don't know what type of tires you have for your cars. I talked about this (not you, but the weather in general, because it seems to be a big problem for many US drivers) and the general consencus from many US drivers with experience of both was that winter tires will help more than going with a say AWD. This obviously would require two sets of wheels or sacrificing some performance in the summer. I've driven 3PMSF tires to the ground over one summer, it was fine, but it will definitely wear them out faster. We usually have two sets of rims, one with winter tires and the other with summer tires. Changing them for the winter provides a lot of practice with it, which is a good skill to have.

I bought a Wall Fireplace for my bedroom, it's beautiful, keeps us so warm at night, we really don't have a need in the daytime unless we are sick and in bed, I haven't noticed any increase in my electric bill. also using the ceiling fan above your bed on he Winter setting will help a lot. If you had your corner stove going and did have a Ceiling fan it would help to circulate the air. Living in a HUGE home, a pointer I will give is ceiling fans during all Seasons helps with the Power bill. you have so much wasted air not circulated. Just always have i turned in the correct directions, and they have such beautiful ceilings fans now. Hope that helps. God Bless

I see all kinds of homesteaders that just place a small fan on their wood stoves and they say it makes a world of difference, really spreads the heat outwards and upwards you may not need to rewire, at least you can try the wood stove fans and see how it works, would at least help until then anyways❤

Being thankful for the wonderful family I have helps with the longing (and grieving) and transition into a new season a lot. ❤ from Sweden
