My son and I built a plane model the other day in 2 hours, lost all the propellers and was painted all blue; still the best time ever. Wouldn't have done it without your inspiration. Thanks!

@@thatmaverickguy859 I agree. I used to build models as a child and enjoyed the detailed hand work. I eventually become a gunsmith. Retired now but I always looked forward to going to work and loved my job. My brothers used to say they hated their jobs so I felt very fortunate.

For a military vehicles builder, you're certainly very talented with car models. A lot of armor/plane guys will build the entire model and spend hours painting parts in place instead of seperately as intended. Two totally different styles and you've nailed them both.

My father took me to Brands Hatch that year, I remember this car so clearly, it was my second favourite after the Surtees Ford driven by Vittorio Brambilla who was my father's favourite driver, and who I am named after. F1 racing then was so much more exciting, and the noise was incredible.

In real life the Goodyear tire logos were all quickly sprayed on with heavy card stencils - not done by hand for each tire as it would take forever doing hundreds of sets per race solely for advertising so to have it look realistic using the templates held right against the tire and hitting it with a loaded white in airbrush is the way to go. All my cars have been done this way and look great. Decals will crack over time on the rubber base.

Absolutely stunning. One comment I want to make is I see everyone scrubbing the tires to make them look rougher. Brand new slicks are very smooth and very shiny, so there's nothing wrong with leaving them as is. If the final model is super clean and super polished it would make sense for it to be on brand new slicks.
