Dre a producer always had been ever since his NWA days and he does beats he just happens to be in the group upfront and be in the videos p Diddy, dj Khalid they just hop on from time to time and throw on a lil bar here and there they main role is producer
@md.s25369 ай бұрын
Yeah same for Eazy-E. And Biz Markie didn't write his rhymes either. I think the important part is that they ever fronted and tried to lie, deny, or cover that up. So it's all above board and Biz, Eazy, and Dre are all legends of hip hop. IMO if you use ghostwriters, that immediately disqualifies you from any consideration for GOAT status. But you can still absolutely achieve legend status like Eazy and Biz.
@md.s25369 ай бұрын
Khalid and Diddy aren't producers tho. They're EXECUTIVE producers; they coordinate and oversee projects coming together......but They don't make beats.
@donnellm3469 ай бұрын
@@md.s2536 Right. No denying Eazy and Biz's contributions to hip hop are undeniable. However, my beef with Drake (whose music I used to like) is that he steals waves. Drake mines an artists' creative force like a parasite then discards them after they express achieving individual success. The Weeknd was really only the successful one who got away because he was already bubbling, smart, never signed to OVO and saw the grift early.

Drake can go on & on about how "strong" his pen game is but at the end of the day, a strong pen doesn't need help with their bars. You def can't use that excuse when you steal flows from mfs like Soulja Boy who's arguably one of the worst rappers ever. If he was a singer then it'd be different but as a rapper, if you're not writing your own bars then you're NOT an artist but an entertainer
