To be fair, he’s sitting opposite an interviewer accusing him of murder despite an jury acquittal. Personally, I think he did hire someone to kill her but anyone who’s read how she cleaned out many innocent people for 20 years wouldn’t care one way or another. That woman had NINE husbands before Robert Blake and stole every last dime from most of them before disappearing (including an 80 year old man). She just messed with a killer this time. Karma.

The behavior of Robert Blake in this interview is no different than it was 35-40 years ago when he would appear on Johnny Carson. He has always been a tortured soul, full of pain. He never tried to hide this. I always liked him for his transparency and vulnerability and at the same time being very much a man. I don't believe he killed his wife. The method makes no sense at all. Either that or he is a criminal genus or an extremely high stakes gambler with his own life. I get where he is coming from, I always have.

After reading up on the piece of work who was his wife, there is a good reason why he wasn't convicted or found guilty. Because there was a huge amount of reasonable doubt, in that she had life 4-5 previous partners and she other lovers she tried to blackmail and ruin their lives to the point of EVERYONE had a motive for wanting to bump her off. Not saying she deserved it or anything like that. But it was a case of "It could just have easily been the other guy." And with no real solid evidence, it made sense why he was not thrown in jail.

"Why would I marry her if I was going to kill her?" I don't think people generally go in to marriage with that plan but usually when a female spouse dies suspiciously it ends with the husband in jail.

Blake could have said "Blue is my favorite color" at the beginning of interview and Morgan could have said "You're favorite color is blue." later. Blake would have argued,"Blue ain't my favorite GD color! Who TF told you that,Charlie?"

As I do when I take off my hat, you make a good point. One wonders why Blake even consented to appear. Piers is well known for his confrontational interviewing style.

@jubalcalif9100 Blake was a confrontational figure his entire career. He only got angrier as he got older.

Robert Blake has a “short” temper.

Maybe if Piers had brought out a kettle of earl grey,, crumpets, and country marmalade, things wouldn't have been so tense.

Good point. But maybe if Piers had come out wearing a hat & vest they could have had a lovefest about their fashion ideas!

***** Really Justin, what are those facts that show the impossibility of him having done away with his wife. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, he raced (NOT) to the next hospital - a mile and a half away so they could try and save her life (Tarzana Medical Center to be precise )

"Blake stated that he was physically and sexually abused by both of his parents while growing up and was frequently locked in a closet and forced to eat off the floor as punishment.[2] At age 14, he ran away from home, leading to several more difficult years.[7] His father committed suicide in 1956.[2]" - Wiki
