Loud! Epic Canberra Display at Kemble Cotswold Airport (EGBP) & Takeoff & Landing - 11th April 2014

What a privilege it was to see this beautiful aircraft displaying, what more, performing basically just for us; there can't have been more than 20 people there watching!
On the 11th of April 2014 we went up to Kemble Cotswold Airport (EGBP), making it the second visit there. I always love visiting this private airfield, and this time was no exception. We saw this Airbus A350-941 doing test flights there and then in the afternoon this epic English Electric Canberra taxied out. It backtracked the runway then departed, did an incredible practice display, then landed before taxying back to base. After you watch the display for yourself I'm sure you will agree it was absolutely epic. Also look out for the clip of the Cessna 310 that flew a short distance infront of the Canberra which was taking aerial photos!
You won't see much more from this trip apart from maybe an update video from my first tour video, so you can see what has changed. But don't worry, I will of course be returning to Kemble Airfield!

Canberra's have that unique wing box design. The Martin built Canberra served in Vietnam with distinction. NASA RB-57 is based on the same Martin built Canberra. Those TF-33 engines and long wings make it look sinister. A design that has really held up over the years.

At one of the last RAF Waddington airshows before the Canberra PR9 retired I had a brief chat with the pilot and he was showing people one or two photographs they had taken. One photo was of the clock on Big Ben at the Houses of Parliament as clear as day. Big deal....then he said "We were over the Isle of Wight when we took that one" Thats about 80 miles as the crow flies. The PR9 was pretty fast as well having more powerful Avons.

Very impressive! Awesome video. :) I'm just wondering, from 0:00 to 0:50 your panning is too fast and it makes the footage a bit blurry I think... Maybe try panning a little slower or if you want it just as fast try panning slowly then speeding up the video in the editor? Try what works! :)

+Straight No Chaser No, there are plenty of Canberra's still in existence. This is one of at least three PR.9's that have been preserved.

so if you were still wondering about the existence of this specific aircraft both XH134 and XH135 Canberra's are still in storage outdoors at Kemble Cotswold Airport. I visited yesterday and can confirm them being there.
