Louder Turbo Noises?? MK7.5 GLI Turbo Inlet Pipe Install

In today's video, we are kicking off the new year by installing a turbo inlet pipe and silicon inlet hose on my MK7 GLI. The installation is the same for a GTI as well.

This video is gonna make me redo my inlet tomorrow morning. I should have put the oem ring on instead of the one the camr with the IE inlet because that IE was tiny compared to oem. And before i use to get stututu sounds and now its more like a harsh deeper whoosh. I mean i felt like that wasnt normal when i first did it but i was like nah. But then u mentioned the air that’s probably leaking thru and now im concerned thats maybe why…no other videos i look up about inlet show up about this. I just decided to scroll thru your page and watch this vid and seem u say that and i was like hmmmmm maybe thats why i hear a different sound!! Lol ill see tomorrow tho.

Ohhh interesting. I didn't know that the ie one was smaller, maybe worth trying the oem one in that case! Goodluck with the swap :)

Just curious do you have it tuned? Just picked up a 24 gli and already put on a mbrp catback. Hoping to get a downpipe after warranty but those pops and bangs sound sick. Just wondering if i have to tune it aswell to be able to sound how yours does or just a down pipe

You will need a downpipe a d tune, don't run a downpipe without a tune :)

Do you like the APR intake? Seems like it’s pretty dirty and could get hot since it’s so big. Thinking about getting the IE intake no cover bc not paying that carbon fiber tax

Honestly the apr intake is okay at best. I wouldn't have bought it knowing what I know now. The heat soak is apparently worse than stock but idk, it sounds cool i guess lol. I would go with the blaze intake tbh ie is good too though

curious if ur stock inlet hose ever fell/slipped off before mine does every now and then and its annoying. I have a 20' GTI and the apr intake.
