@@richardgriffin2590 I sold the Tacoma I had it in. The system is in my garage, and a close friend is putting it in his Tahoe. I never swapped out the 3k. It gave me zero issues and the setup sounded amazing in the daily setup so I never altered anything.

What about Orion Hcca's? Just curious if you've ever tried them. Or Alpines type R's or JL w7s and my personal favorite audiopipes 4stack. I'm only curious because DD's is the only ones I blew out. And again I'd never judge or anything it's only my personal opinion. Skars pretty good to. I had some SMD's once they were pretty tough to.

Its not necessarily about the size of the subs. 10's, 12's, and 15's are just the most common. There are 6.5" subs. Everything makes a difference. Air space, port size and channels, all the way down to the wires and radio. I go to a lot of shows, have 2 DB drive G2's and beat up people with higher end brands and built my box in a day with no specs ( got lucky ) but if those subs are 1500 watts or better, with that box and port, im impressed. I hope this guy is at slamfest in a few weeks. Imma look for him

I might be a lil bonkers when sum1 says i dont hav a system go back to my sony. Only sony i hav ever had is like 16 years ago when walmart carried my sony radio for 200$ and not the radio with dolphins/graphics that costed more but was garbo if u was wanting top of line radio quality. Back in 1997 I put 20 Rockford Fosgates series 1’s in a 1987 Honda Crx with (2) Xtant-1001Ds running series of 10 to each one I was hitting 152.6 on a factory alternator no upgrade but did have two optima deep cycle batteries in the trunk one under the hood to charge in caps

You can only hide them so much LOL my wiring is completely hidden except for right there at the amplifiers and even then it only sticks out maybe 2 inches at the most and that’s on the high end it’s probably an inch or less but then again for gauge is a lot easier to hide than zero gauge my bad I meant to say bend not hide well then again it’s easier to hide too LOL

I feel like he definitely could've done better on two XV, ZV, or NS 12's. Or if he built the box all the way to the back wall and made it a 4 seater, he might've been able to squeeze three 12s or two 15s in. Of course, with a box like that you're more likely looking at a top-mounted aero-port than a back-facing slot port.

My two X-8v3's on a Sundown sfb2000 get nasty on rebassed music. I've had much bigger subs but none have impressed me as much as the X-8's.

Has set up as nice as hell but should have went with scar ZVX eighths instead they hit just as hard if not harder for half the price tag The ZVX eights are rated at 900 W RMS those I believe are only 500 W RMS I know a few people that say the ZV exes are underrated they’re running 1200 W RMS to each eight they have and is handling the 1200 without a problem

Interesting enough it would take at least 4.5 of the 8" subs to have the cone surface area of two 12's. Why use 8's if you're not putting them under a seat or some area that requires them? Way cheaper to go bigger. A single 15" sub has close to the same total come capacity as the four 8's as well. I guess if your running an sq comp maybe? Not only are you spending more on the subs, you have to push more power as well to run 4 smaller subs instead of 2 bigger.

Cone area and box spec's make the system what it is. 8's are usually used to save space but in this case 10's would fit or so it seems from the outside view, 10's would get lower and louder and 4 of them in the right build can get violent, I've seen a few first hand at shows

Ive competed and built countless boxes for my friends and I, I understand the wind science behind it greatly but you said it yourself cone area and box specs 3 10's have more cone area than 4 8's and adjusting the box in prefab for 10's would have been just a slightly bigger cabinet. I was stating that the box appears to be big enough for the 10's cone area from the outside but nobody knows how many layers hes piled onto all the sides, it could be tiny inside
