Well, thanks for explaining in-depth how to adjust our shafts, tightening springs above to get a wide opening in our warp and how to use the brake handle. My springs don't pop out but what happens to me is that my "brake" is very stiff and doesn't lift so easily. What have I done wrong when assembling. what I've been doing for past 2 months and off the bench, walk to side and lift brake handle and turn the dial to loosen back been and then use brake to advance.... Hope that's clear.

The screws on the shed adjusters do not raise or lower my shafts. I finally held up the bars and noticed that even when the cords bowed on either side, the shafts did not move. I have been trying to fix the shedding problem all morning, but things are much worse than when I started. I weaved 4 plain weave towels and it worked beautifully. I tied up for twill...and its a mess. I cannot fix it...I tried everything.

Would love to see a video like this for those of us who have a David II. I was not aware that most of this was possible and don't know what the similar targets would be for the David II.

The sliding beater doesn't work smooth enough for me in my David can I get the beater like this and attach it to my loom?

Unfortunately no, the beater on the new David will not fit on the old David loom. There are some articles to help with a David 2 beater that is not smooth. You can look up these articles at our website, www.louet.com or open a ticket and I can direct you to the articles

The sliding beater was so great. I have no idea why they would get rid of it.

Based on feedback from my customers, some people think they couldn’t beat hard enough. Also, you have to clean lint off the bar and the bushings that the bar goes through if you weave a lot with cotton. Some people found that annoying.
