Great video, I fished that comp last year, hope to fish it again next year. It's a very tough competition, but very well ran. You're fishing against the best predator anglers in the country.

Ya you definitely want to bring your A Game to it, some savage fish caught last week, some real monsters 👏👌🎣

Nice channel and videos mate. Love it Me belgian,living for 25 years near Cork. Honestly, im not impressed by the pike fishing in Ireland. Compare to Holland, scandinavia, Russia.....I catch way more over there. Same for trout. Coarse gishing( bream, perch....) is excellent here
@senanstanleyfishing3 ай бұрын
Good stuff. We catch a crazy amount of pike and trout here, cork wouldn’t be the best place at all for pike or trout fishing in Ireland. Good for sea fishing though.

Really well organized 🙏 Hopefully, we had great craic this year, not sure yet what the story is next year as i see they have organized it around spawning times, so I will have to see closer to the time ☺️

Always great content senan,Iv never done a lot of pike fishing from boats,it's always looked the more productive way of getting a lot more fish,Iv mostly bank fished deads behind alarms, quite slow even on the best days,do you see a lot of jack pike on your boating trips with a big girl every so often,Im just gauging if getting a boat just opens up more water to me rather than actually catching bigger fish,Iv got my spots on alot of waters were a trip or two there and I can catch a big girl from those places,is the boat the same or am I missing something more with the boat, thanks Dublin piker
@senanstanleyfishing2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment Daniel 👍 well for me personally I would only ever deadbait on a day when the lake is too windy for the boat. Fishing from a boat 95% of my time, shore angling is great but incredibly limited. It’s all lure fishing with me also I wouldn’t have the patience for the bite alarm style of pike fishing, I’d recommend the boat to anyone it opens up a whole new world. Generally it’s all sizes of pike you meet, anything under 5 pike a trip would be considered a poor trip out, they are a lot easier to find when you’re covering water and using the electronics to find structure and baitfish, but there’s never any guarantees 👌🎣 It’s great for perch and trout also, each day is a learning day out there, weather changing constantly changes the techniques needed on the day, but always great fun 👌😁

Brilliant video, binge watching all your videos at the moment, just wondering what the name of the rod and blue bait casting reel is? Looking at getting a nice bait casting setup myself!
@senanstanleyfishing2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Man I appreciate it 👏🎣 that rod is lovely it’s a savage gear sg2, pretty sure it’s 6ft6 and 70-100 gram casting, been using it a lot lately it’s really nice 👍 my main rod would be the sg4 power trigger 80-130 gram 8ft 6 👍

Hi Senan,thanks for the video..is it mostly casting or do ye troll as well in competition?
@senanstanleyfishing2 жыл бұрын
It’s usually all casting but on a new lake that we didn’t know trolling was the best option to cover water 👍
