And again, I'm editing these two even though I told myself I wouldn't. This show is very much hurt/little comfort, but that last scene between them with the hug ENDED me, I still can't get over it. And let me tell you going into this show completely blind made the ending of ep 7 very, VERY upsetting. I feel like there's a lot of information missing for the people who haven't read the books and I'm wondering if I should read them. But apparently we'll get to see rockstar! Lestat in season 3 and I'm so here for that! He's just a poor, sad little meow meow.

The Vampire Chronicles books feature very different characters than the show, but I think they’re still worth reading. They don’t have the same breadth of passion for one another, romantically or as a family, but the same brilliant ideas are all laid out there. I’m very excited to see Lestat’s first fledgling adapted to the show, she’s one of my favorite characters. Lestat’s relationship with those who came before explains a lot about his relationship with Louis. But I won’t give any more away!

books are way better if you read all of them including the Mayfair Witches you find a more connected universe...the love passion and family are there just not graphic but in some ways way more powerful...just a different opinion plus you realize Lestat loves more than one person and in one case he loves her enough to not change her he does not want her life ended prematurely...think about that he actually values and loves her more then his need to keep her with him... He actually finally puts someone above his own desire and needs he wants her to finish her passion/ purpose then he will find her. There are many interconnected love stories and many are about family, friend, and platonic love not just romantic love, and physical passion...plus who ever is playing Louis does not come close to the description from the book this actor has no resemblance to the description accept being a man with dark hair and tall

I disagree. The books have a lot of passion, a lot of love and emotion. It's what drives the saga. they don't have sex to desmostrate it but it's a book, and they did that in the show bc its a different medium. But they still are complex, sad, romantic, tragic and fun. They are worth reading for their own thing, not as something connected to the show. Season 2 changed so much that you cannot truly do that anymore lol. I also cant wait for tvl tho. Amazing book and amazing character.

​@@lynnb1108 the treatment of Louis' chara in s2 made me so sad... To me he holds more than those characteridtics, but book canon!Louis is a different creature than show!Louis. This season i had no other choice but to separate it as their own thing. I did that bc i wanted to continue to watch it. For it's an amazingly crafted show, clearly done w love and dedication. So s2 belongs as their own separate thing, with its own lore, its own themes and focus. It's very sad, but it is what it is. The choice of music in this edit is very fitting for s2 lol "What could have been"

"Perfection" the wording the scenes, the music its art... truly an understanding of the show and its characters, tempo and emotion. Wonderful. I always felt like, If louis would have just told lestat he did not love him, Lestat would have left, because then there would still be hope for him, for them but Louis his silence was "cruel". This also because of Lestat his desperation to not be alone. But Louis always loved Lestat, how far they were away from eachother, it would always circle back to Lestat and Lestat would always circle back to Louis...

Your video was so beautiful and moving that it made me cry. I really hope Louis and Lestat are back together in some capacity next season. Whenever they share a scene, they just light up the screen! I would recommend reading The Vampire Lestat because that will be the basis for next season. Interview with the Vampire is good, of course, but the end of the book is set up differently from the show so I don’t think it would really answer most questions about wtf was going on around the trial. It does hit the same major beats as the show, but the show takes its own path with the details. I think we’ll have to wait for S3 for answers. Hopefully Daniel will be there to get them for us!

Ah if there was one person I would have wanted to do an IWTV supercut, it would have been you, ever since your AHS season 1 vids. The first book really doesn't present Louis and Lestat's relationship this way, so I won't say you'll gain much from reading it. The Lestat of the first book is almost a completely different character from how he's presented in the rest of the series. He's the impulsive, romantic anti-hero in most of the series, but in the first book, he's a reactive petulant brat who comes across as a pathetic shell by the end of it. The series deals with that decently by presenting it as Louis and/or Armand rewriting history to make themselves look better - or maybe just less pitiable.

Exactly! Long after the fact, book Louis mentions the penultimate chapter of IWTV in which he supposedly visits a weak, pathetic and mentally deteriorating Lestat. Lestat reminds Louis that that meeting NEVER EVEN HAPPENED, or at least not as Louis described it. So was it just a made-up story? The TV series gives us the perfect answer to that question. We see Lestat and Louis grieving together for their daughter, able now to comfort each other and reconnect. A great way to round off Season 2!
