I absolutely loved how he did it. I screamed when I realized what he was singing. Then Where Do Broken Hearts Go and I shocked I knew the song. Then I took my daughters to see Niall and he did Night Changes and I went absolutely insane. I will always go see those two if I get a chance to. This show is the reason I promised my daughters that we would go see them solo and then the reunion.

OMG, I figured it out. Louis is the 'Paul Williams' of today. I refer to one of the great songwriter/ singers of the 1970's and 80's. Louis has a limitless talent for writing, and the kind of charasmatic personable presence that makes an audience and fan base forgive his limited vocal range and skillset. There is a very long list of songwriter/singers who's strength is definitely the former rather than the latter. Louis is great on stage, because his passion, presence and authenticity more than make a lack of a' well controled vibrato', or 'sustained mixed belt'. As a singer, you don't need vocal pyrotechnics to communicate a message to an audience. But you absolutely have to love what you are doing, and your audience has to want you to succeed. Louis does not have any problems there.

Exactly this. He has a very unusual male vocal, it's very airy and light. It made all the difference in 1D's songs and as a solo artist it just has a quality that I can't match to any other male vocalist. His range isn't massive, he can't belt (to my knowledge) but his vocals are spot on to what he's saying in his songs.

All of the band members have individually covered different 1D songs, I don't think any of them have any problem with each other covering the songs. Also I don't think he's really trying to pass it off as his own, anyone going to his concert is gonna hear that and go "Oh, that's that 1D song!"
