I think it was more about the band in general. They literally made five albums in 5 years. They barely had enough sleep, enough to eat, and didn’t even know themselves. I think Louis was talking about the whole time in the band, all the hardships he and the boys went through to get to where they are today. Several sleepless night, having to go on a diet. Zayn developed and eating disorder. The boys made it through everything Simon abs Syco and Modest put them through. This is I believe the song is about.

I love how it all came together in this arrangement. The sound is clean and driving at the same time. Also, the stops and second beat accents make it come out even stronger. The danger with songs having simple chords is that they could sound boring, but this one does not. Then, there goes Louis' singing. It is so straightforward and packed with the right emotion. He does not need a lot of "vocal gymnastics" to put it all across. His breath support greatly helps how he sings every line. He definitely sings to express.
