Louis van Gaal has a brilliant coaching philosophy, he's a right to say what he says to the media they slagged him off loads. He's great with the youth development side of united producing the likes of rashford, bringing martial in, giving Mctominay, Wilson, Tuanzebe, Blackett etc their opportunity. He got treated poorly by the typical English media.

Exactly. He has done it over and over again at Ajax, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester United. It seems as if he did a lot more experimentation at United as he was buying, selling and loaning so many (expensive) players because they were a) getting extorted and b) going through transition but there was a method to the madness and United will reap the benefits in the coming years. The United fans who still criticise him are beyond stupid and know nothing about the game.

LyleMiMyle well if you're united fans, obviously it's hard to give this guy respect. He ruined almost everything, sold most of key players, crazy positioning which killed players' career (Valencia LB, Rooney CM), no trust for young player from previous era (buttner, januzaj, cleverley), wasteful transfer , etc.
@0fwRs6 жыл бұрын
Who were the key players he sold? Welbeck, Cleverley , Evans? Btw where do those 3 players you name play now? Right. (vitesse, Real sociedad and watford) Seems like you're better off without them. I'm pretty sure Valencia played on rb while shaw was injured on LB. You either had Blind or Rojo playing there and not to even mention he's actually given youth players like Rashford, Lingard,Fosu Mensah,Blackett and McNair a chance at the time. You're a fool to think Falcao and Di maria didnt get a chance and concluding that would be the reason they never succeeded at ur club. Maybe it's because your club has lost it's identity when Ferguson left your club. After Fergusons departure your club has appointed 3 very different managers , you might be winning more games since mourinho's ur manager but after a couple games of watching man utd this season i will never watch it again unless it's a big game vs Liverpool/Man City/Arsenal just because those clubs do actually play some good football which anyone from the world can enjoy. You lot and Chelsea are the biggest clubs who play Anti Football in the world. Keep disrespecting an old manager who has won many trophies in europe except at your club. Btw im pretty sure LVG did better than Mourinho in his first season , and look at the players he got to buy.. Btw Falcao just came off an injury and Di Maria wasn't good enough to carry your shit team. It's as simple as that.

Mr.Bludfam Lol imagine coming back to laugh at what someone said 7 months ago. In any case, the football we played under ole at the beginning was class, and even you as an arsenal fan surely would agree. What happened, I don’t know, but we’ve reverted to a negative 4-2-3-1 with Pogba playing as a cdm, which is the opposite of what made us successful at the beginning of Oles time here. Recently he’s looked tactically inept. To be fair to him though, he didn’t get the backing he needed in the summer

It was very nascent stages of evolution of his style of football. It needs a bit of getting used to and how you apply yourself in that kind of setup is bit different. Same with even Pep. LVG was the best technical coach united will see for a very long time. He understood the game and had a philosophy he needed more time to implement. The calibre of players he attracted was no accident and although some of them flopped, he tried to balance youth with experience. Rooney also said he’s the best coach he’s worked with, (that’s ahead of Ferguson) and I’d rather watch LVG possession football than mourinhos park the bus, moyes’s joke of a style and the shit united have now.

Van Gaal would have been ideal for UTD because he can always motivate his team against the tops sides, sth Mou does not often do. You can say anything about Van Gaal, but he's a great coach and tactician. It's really about the team and the management. In 2014 he did a great job with The Netherlands. Finishing 3rd with such a bad team, means the tactic works.
@thomaat4603 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't call Robben, Sneijder, van Persie, (Nigel) de Jong, Vlaar, Kuyt and talents such as a young de Vrij, Wijnaldum and Depay bad players. There certainly were bigger teams and you are right in saying he created a great team out of an average selection. But saying it was a bad team is an understatement.
@nickklok49553 жыл бұрын
@@thomaat460 Maybe you are right, but have to note that the team around that time was considered bad. In 2010, we had a great team, with a poor defense imho. In 2014 it was almost visa versa in regards of the age of most players. So you are right, they weren't bad, but in average the team was lesser in comparison with 2010.
@thomaat4603 жыл бұрын
@@nickklok4955 That's absolutely true, with that comparison in mind he did a fantastic job. But although some critics might have called it a bad team at the time, I think most people would consider at least 2 players world class.
