Honestly I totally agree with you .. if I’m going for Odeon, I definitely think the Mm is worth it because if I want a big bag I want all of my stuff to fit .. if I want a small bag i probably would use a way smaller bag than the PM .. so in my Opinion if you want small go for the boulogne but if you want a big bag go for the MM. I went for the MM in Mono and black leather as I live in the U.K. and it always rains here so that was the safest choice ( zip and black leather ) so it replaces a neverfull in my case. I really love the Vivienne leather but i just wish it was a treated waterproof leather. Ps: could you do a video on inserts for this bag ? Do you even think it’s worth having one for this bag ? I’m just worried about the shape. PSs: I would suggest a little pouch for all of your miscellaneous stuff 👌🏻

You’re so sweet, thank you! The leather on this bag appears to be pre-aged but untreated. However, with that said, once it gets some patina it builds it’s own protective barrier. Also, if you have untreated leather that has been spotted by rain, you can use a water wipe to get them off.

If I’m being 100% honest, I ended up not loving this bag and sold it. However, I absolutely LOVE LOVE my pochette Métis. I’ve been using mine for about a month straight now, and constantly switch back to it.

@@brandirogers2430 I didn’t like the tapered opening of the top of the bag. Also when I tried to get into the bag while wearing it crossbody it was difficult and would scratch my hands. I loved the look but the overall design didn’t function well for me. With that said, I know many love this bag. As for my Pochette Métis, mine is one of the newer ones that no longer have the glazing issues. I bought mine two years ago and it’s in perfect shape so far. I think they’ve fixed the glazing and cracking issues. I hope this helps!

I think the semi-aged leather is less likely to show water spots than the original type of vachetta, however this leather is not supposed to be treated, just semi-aged. As vachetta patinas it is less likely to show stains and water spots. It develops its own protective barrier with time. I hope this helped!

I have been sending them pictures of mine because where the zipper pocket is, it’s like my bag has extra material between that and the pockets beneath it! It’s weird to explain. I thought I was crazy at first until I kept looking especially yours because you are so detailed and I didn’t see that in any any of them or yours .

Hello! If you feel the bag isn’t made correctly you should definitely be persistent about them either repairing or replacing it, depending on how long you’ve had it. I talk with them today and I’m going to package it up and send to them for them to inspect. I hate having to send it off because it will probably be over a month before I get it back or they deem it defective and I get a new one. I wish I loved closer than 7hrs from a store. Fingers crossed they deem it defective and I get a new one. I’m like you though. I haven’t carried it a lot because it does get heavy. It’s such a beautiful bag but I. Think I would. Like to go with either this one that you just got or a Damier Ebene Speedy B 35.

Is the leather on this bag treated? It looks like a different texture than the leather trim on my other bags, but I just received a Cary all bag today I ordered and the leather trim feels different, almost rubbery.

Hello, the leather on this bag feels normal. Not rubbery at all. At least, when I bought mine it was that way. Louis Vuitton is constantly downgrading the materials they use for their bags so it wouldn’t surprise me if they now used a cheaper feeling leather. With that said, the leather on this bag is considered semi-treated. It is tanned and pre-aged.

Is the pre treated vachetta kind of slick? I bought a pre loved and already hot stamped vachetta luggage tag and it looks exact compared to one I purchased directly from LV but it is slicker than the raw vachetta, feels like there’s a coating on it. Now I’m not sure if it’s real or it’s just been treated.

It’s probably been treated. That’s what the treated vachetta looks like. It’s one of the reasons why I don’t like that they do it. It makes the items look fake.

Is the pretreated leather more water resistant?

I don’t believe it’s any more water resistant, just closer to developing an even deep patina. However, once vachetta reaches a certain point it develops its own water and stain resistant properties from the deep oils it develops.

The PM strap is a lot shorter than the MM strap. If you get the PM size you should be okay. That bag was just a little too small for me which is why I went with the MM.

I had a hard time getting into the zipper when I was wearing it because of the shape. Don’t let me discourage you from getting it though! I say buy it and see if you love it. Everyone is different. I have a question do you still have this bag? I have had mine for almost 3yrs now and I’m just now realizing I think there’s a defect on mine. It feels like there is a Vshape dent on the front pocket at the top. At first I thought it was just on 1 side and I needed to stuff it but then I realized it’s on both sides and I can I feel it. . There is no amount of stuffing the bag that could take it out

@@tashabuckmire2122 hello, unfortunately I no longer own this bag but I know what you’re referring to. I’m not sure there is a way to remedy this as the defect seems to be with the canvas. I have a similar situating with my neverfull mm in monogram. I think it’s to do with how they pinch the canvas in order to sew it. I would bring it up to your SA but I don’t know if they will do anything since it’s been 3 years and Louis Vuitton likes to blame everything on “normal wear and tear”.

@@ItalidaReviews thank you for the response. I’m so glad you know what I am talking about. I thought I was sounding crazy trying to describe it lol. Yes it appears to be within the canvas. But like you said since it’s been 3yrs they probably will say their famous “ wear and tear”. Which is crazy because once I noticed it on the other side a couple of days ago I ran my hand across it on the inside and you can feel something inside of there. It’s definitely a defect on how they were made. I think they may be getting ready to discontinue them. I went online and I saw the Odeon handbag is no longer there and these are all on the Notify me. That’s how they did the Artsy earlier this year before it just disappeared all together. I had the same trouble with my Artsy that you did. My handle darkened and my trim did not. They did absolutely nothing for me. I live 7hrs from the closest store so my battle was all online. I buy all my bags online unless I go to Vegas( where I was 2wks ago and was wearing this bag but wasn’t paying the issue any attention when I walked in the store lol) or in Austin to go visit my daughter who attends UT Austin. So I’ll be there at towards the end of August to help my daughter get settled into another new apartment for the school year and I’ll take it with me to address the issue in person. If not I’ll be back in Vegas in October and I’ll take there.

Oh definitely for crossbody the Odeon wins hands down!! If you have shoulder problems then I would say go with the Odeon. You can’t fit as much but you’ll be happier and more comfortable.

I have been told that on some of their new bags now they are not placing a date code tag anymore and that the bag has some sort of chip in it that has to be scanned at LV for them to authenticate or see the date code. I personally do NOT like this at all. I think they should continue to put a date code tag where the consumer can see it.
