The scientists who work at the Salk Institute were not allowed to attend this event nor were they even allowed to watch from their studies above. Access to the building was made difficult for more than a week and there was no open conversation about the event with the faculty. This was a very unfortunate missed opportunity to actually merge science and fashion.

Glad almost everyone enjoyed it. However, it was a horribly lost opportunity to live up to the Salk Institute’s legacy of combining art with science. The folks at Salk working each and every day, the students, postdocs and staff, working for humanity were excluded from the event and prohibited from moving from lab to lab and building to building for over a week. They were relegated to moving amongst the campus underground in tunnels as if the heart and soul of the Salk were diseased family members kept out of sight. All for what folks? I hope the money was worth it and the cost of the items further enrich a multibillion company.

The attendees aren’t at the fashion show to enjoy this horrific creation of what they call “fashion” and “creativity” as I can’t imagine anybody would wear such atrocity “galactic” style publicly. Attendees are presence just to show that socioeconomic status of the wealth and fortune while there so many people in so many countries are suffering from homeless and hunger. Why don’t these folks put on a better cause.

The production was massive. One of my colleagues worked on this project and stayed 3 days in San Diego. Then she came to our set to work on our shoot, which was considerably less glamourous. I loved seeing Signe Veiteberg make an appearance. Her look was perfect for this.

It starts here…soaring and uplifting …an iconic and monumental architectural building .. and installation of epic and uplifting proportions..a perfectly staged runway …and futuristic vision and landscape…Nicholas Guesquiere …an innovative visionary and forward thinking designer ..offers a portal to another world…space and sci fi inspired themes and elements..bold oversized shoulders… shimmering metallics….androgynous tailoring….really loved the “Fashion Flashback” footage and commentary …how cool to see the most amazing and impressive architectural landmarks in the world ..just incredible and ‘out of this world’… and especially apt, the 2017 masterpiece viewed from above …like a giant spaceship…well researched and in-depth ..,intergalactic report … with great drone footage ..truly engaging Logic and team 😘
