@@BananaAna-hw8wi I think what Dr. bee bee is trying to say, maybe a bit passionately, is that she feels deceived by a lack of disclosure, if in fact this is a sponsored or dictated plug by that brand.... often companies tell youtubers what to say, how to say, and how long to say to push their sales, it is not just that they get paid to plug a brand, it can be so many things, and when you trust the person posting their videos as an honest “real” person it is disheartening.... maybe maybe not, just my take on her passionate comment.

@@SomethingLatte for my own piece of mind, did the brand tell you or suggest to you what to say about their items, did they direct a time minimum or limit for how long to speak about their items, or did they offer phrases to use when speaking about items? I have binge watched all of your videos up to this one, because I believed that your videos were your opinion, your own thoughts, not directed by a brand, this one really made me pause. In my humble opinion, when brands do this, they are being manipulative, and I do not wish to be manipulated. That said, there is absolutely nothing wrong at all with sponsorships, scripted, or heavily directed videos. It is pretty cheap advertising for brands, and youtubers receive either products or pay for their advertising of products. I am sure many or most youtubers start their channels thinking, this could be a fun side hustle, making a secondary income sharing things I love with others that love the same things, cool. The issue comes in when people establish a trust, in their own mind with a KZbinr, then discover these sneaky brand plugs that aren’t disclosed. Standard answers to questions like, “these are my own thoughts” or “I honestly believe” don’t really answer the questions people are asking, and often are answers that, brands suggest, as just another layer of manipulation, and we know this. It destroys trust, and people stop watching, unsubscribe, etc. That doesn’t have to happen, if everything is stated up front, and viewers know what is happening, it can be a win win, the trust is not broken, and the brand may get increased sales from it.
