Been dying to try Asahi for a while! Always hear great things about it. Well...not ALWAYS. Always some haters but still. This review just confirms I HAVE to buy it if I ever see it. Interesting thing to note, you see this beer pop up in a LOT of anime shows. XD

I find a lot of reviewers automatically punish mainstream beers. Calling them bland . Many beer drinkers dont want overly strong beer. Alternatively they might choose to drink quite a few in which case they'd look for a smoother easier pint. I always think that macro beers shouldnt be judged to the same standard as craft beers that are produced in smaller amounts. I also appreciate it put you in a hard position by insulting someone whom you probably know. Anyway keep up the good work.

I love Asahi, I think it's better than Sapporo. I had it at a restaurant in Las Vegas back in March, but I haven't been able to find it in stores. I wish it was easier to find in my area.

GiantSpaceMonkey I had Ashai Super Dry in the huge tall cans here in Vancouver Canada in November 2016 and I did not like it because it was warm I may revisit it Again during the Easter holiday weekend this week but I love Sapporo beer which is a staple in my fridge the Japanese beers tastes better and are better Quality than Budweiser Coors light Miller lite MGD Corona Bud light same with the Germans and same thing with Prague
@halholbrookspussy
@halholbrookspussy 7 жыл бұрын
Oh man, Aaron, if it was warm, you cannot judge the beer. It needs to be ice cold. Definitely try it again as such. Cheers!

GiantSpaceMonkey yeah I was thinking there's no way this beer can be this bad Quality ever since the 19th century Japan has adopted western culture and they learned good craftsmanship from the Germans and that includes beer making so no way this beer can be bad like you said I had it warm so I did not get the full taste how dose it taste when chilled and compared to the western beers like Budwiser Coors light Miller lite MGD Bud light Corona
@TheAaronChand

so how is it compared to Budwiser Coors Light MGD Bud Light or Corona Miller Light Natty light and Pabst that people drink in the western countries can you get back to me thanks

I got it right! I smelled this beer and said "nothing but grain". I'm learning! The taste was mostly grain as well, with just that tiny spark of hop at the end. Letting it warm up brings the hop out a little bit more, along with the roast on those grains. If I were to go for an adjunct, I'd definitely spring for this.

Great review Ronald! I will say this may merit a revisit since some things have changed. On my 25.4 oz can, it says both that it is brewed by Birra Peroni in Italy and that it is 5.2% alcohol! Overall, I do think it is a good beer but I have a preference for its competitor in Japan of Sapporo. The original, the reserve, and the black are just superb.

Every now and then I go into an Asian Lager/Pilsner phase. This one is great! I enjoy Sapporo Reserve too. Asian Lagers are a nice change from my usual American and European Lagers. I enjoy the Canadian Lagers too (Molson, Labatt, and Moosehead)! I always get Pilsners when I visit breweries!

Excellent review! I'm glad you liked it. Interestingly, the Asahi I reviewed (imported from Japan) was 5.0% ABV. Also, most of the Asahi available here that you'll find in the form of 330ml brown glass bottles is actually made under license in Thailand then imported to Australia by the Foster's Group. I believe there is a slight difference in taste as well.

Ronald Theriot Jay the Ashai Super Dry I had in the tall cans said a product of Japan and there's a production date on the bottom of the can. I tried Ashai Super Dry during the Easter holiday weekend and I loved it tastes so much about western beers like Budwiser Coors Miller. it has a nice strong taste almost like a European beer euro larger taste but better And a dryness at the end which brings it out it's great with food and a good beer for diabetics since all the sugar is transformed into Alchoal it's an A plus beer i may buy some this week

i dont undertand all the praise, the beer tastes like Pierre water , very flavorless atleast saorro tasted like Budweiser, i actually they both tasted similar . at $3 its ok i give it a 6.7 not offensive but not a winner either, the best part is it tastes like natural light (sorta) but 5% like bud. i don't see how you can justify an A rating , would you drink this over pyramid, Guinness, or dales pale ale
