My dad was a Schlitz man, so I gave it a go. However, when introduced to Budweiser in back in '79 it became my go-to beer, and my favorite ever since. Great review! 🍻

I grew up in the Great Lakes Midwest (aka New Deutschland). We used to hear people speaking German all the time, and my Great-grandparents spoke German. And many great German brewers moved to the area. Great German style lagers are brewed there to this day. Great review Ronald.

Back in the 80s when everybody was drinking this brew I tried so so hard to like Bud but I never ever never could get into it. It was really a big seller back in those days.

In 1992 I was a Marine stationed in Iwakuni, Japan for 6 months. I drank way more Budweiser there than I wanted too, but it was always available and cheap on the base. Having one of two 25 oz of these right now ( 2 for 5$ in southeastern pa) and I haven’t had it in a while . I really do feel that after in Bev took over the beer got lighter almost watery. I still enjoy it from time to time but it is not priced right around here.

Actually, after doing this, I pretty much never burp, and the beer does NOT come out flat, as people will say.

Hey Ron, I`m sure you know from my other posts, that Sam Adams Boston Lager, is my favorite beer of its class (lagers) I have also noticed, that Boston Ale is no longer available. Too bad, I really liked that one as well. That being said, payday was yesterday, not enough to get my favorite beer, when the mortgage is do. But, the math is easy. I could have bought my favorite Sam Adams Lager for 20.00 dollars for a 12 pack. Budweiser was the same price, but for a suitcase of 24 beers. I`m drinking my Budweiser right now, and enjoying it!! To heck with the haters on BeerAdvocate, Rate Beer, and other sites where the beer snobs trash everything that is not a craft beer, Budweiser straight out of the can, is JUST FINE with me!! Cheers!!

Budweiser may be the evil empire but I like to have one every now and then especially since Harry Caray was a big fan of Budweiser and so was Country-Western singer John Conlee. I do like how they went slightly retro with the labels on the bottles/cans.

Jay hope all is well there.I just watched your latest revisit of this classic Lager, Budweiser.I was hoping since they recently did a retro can change and went back to the original style lettering as a normal offering that you would come out with another review ,and here it is.I really enjoyed this lastest re review and I have always remembered one of if not my most favorite review you did for Budweiser and when you first started doing reviews for BUD You said,and I might be off a bit on the quote but you had said, I don't know why people pick on Budweiser,I don't pick on Budweiser and you were right back then and still you're on point.This lager style still deserves it's place as an A grade American Lager.The one other thing that I was wondering about and this might be superficial but why they changed from the born on date to a best by date but that's just something I thought about when you mentioned it in the video.Well as always as I have been always over the years ,checkin in from Columbus GA here for your great reviews and will always continue to do so.I think I will have a Budweiser after work today👍

Not sure if you go to the Ye Old College Inn anymore ... but on one of your old reviews you said you used to drink Bud there because was better value than some other offerings they had. When i lived in Houston in 2014 i had a friend visit me from NJ for a few days and while she was in town we drove to New Orleans. One of our stops on NOLA was Ye Old College Inn just because had seen you mention the place on your reviews and wanted to check it out, ha ha. I DO like Bud, one of the higher end AAL's & having one now but can;t compete with the Euro pils and lagers which are my main go to.

Ye Olde College Inn doesn't open until 4:00 pm, but I prefer to have a large meal at 11:00-noon, so it doesn't really fit my lifestyle. Otherwise, I love that place, although I preferred the old ownership setup.

I pick up the "boiled rice" flavor at the back end of the taste/swallow. That slight sweetness creeps back up after the swallow.

Its hard to believe its been 10 years since you started reviewing. Never hurts to revisit the one that started it all. Rice I find makes the beer more dry and it compliments the hop bitterness. Where as corn compliments the malt and sweetness aspects of beer. Budweiser tastes more watered down as compared to what it use to be. I noticed that around early 2016 it started to become more like Bud Light but, with extra body and flavor. Not by much though. In terms of dryness. Old Milwaukee takes the crown for the driest beer I've ever had. I'd be curious as to what an ALL malt Budweiser would taste like just for comparison sake.

Well, the Budweiser Nitro Reserve is all malt, so that could approximate what you are asking about.

109 degrees at 11 am hottest day in San Diego in 2006. Dry throat, Budweiser definitely quenched thirst. I'd prefer Miller Red, but it's no longer available in this market.

I don't drink often but every once in a while I'll go buy some Budweiser and enjoy a couple..or 8 or 9 lol. I've always enjoyed it. I moved onto IPAs if I do drink but I've always been a fan of Budweiser.

I said this in another recent comment of mine. But there's a watering hole near my job with Budweiser on tap. Kind of a rare sight in North Alabama. I used to hate on Budweiser and having it fresh on tap changed my opinion.

@@ronaldtheriot a mexican restaurant i go to here once a week or so (Plaza Azteca Holland Road in Virginia Beach) .... in addition to Modelo, Pacifico, both XX variants, a handful of lights, a local IPA and Yuengling on draught .... they also have Budweiser on tap and i get a jumbo mug sometimes.... AAL at it's finest (if cant get Schlitz - which we cant)

if i am doing AAL - and cant get Schlitz - I'm a Bud man for sure. Don't mind some MHL, PBR, CB, etc to mix them up to a degree for variety sake - but if i was stuck with just one of them Bud is my pick amongst the major american adjunct macros. Aside from Schlitz i also prefer Fosters cause has a bit more/sharper bite but of the main too i would probably also confess - but in BMC land i am rolling with Bud as option 1 for the widely available brands. I know a handful of places here in coastal/SE Virginia that have Budweiser on tap - but yes, they are few and far between compared to its light beer sibling . Pabst has/had some brands other than flagship PBR which i even prefer to PBR (some discontinued and/or i cant find here) like- Piel's, Schaefer, Stroh's, Lonestar, Old Milwaukee, Ranier, Olympia, etc that hold their own vs Bud in my mind. Think Pabst Brewing Co might be the adjunct lager production king - but good luck finding most of them!

Bud Light is like drinking a glass of water with a very subtle watered down beer flavor. I hate lite beer in general. Michelob Lite passes somewhat.

Bought a mix 6 pack of beers and got samuel adams Boston lager and Budweiser. Poured out the Samuel adams lol Budweiser is legendary.

Great review of not only current Bud but their legacy products. I remember the Ale, kind of liked it but not enough to keep buying it, and yeah Boston ale was (is?) great. Last time I had a Budweiser might be near 10 years ago, definitely not a trash beer, was better than i wanted it to be given all the IPAs and craft i drink lol. Even though it's the evil empire as 405cowboy said, it still has some of the old school American free spirit appeal, must be the genius label haha
