Yeah...at what point is the press beaten? A good defensive team will continue to trap after you "beat" the press. Hard to set up an offense when the defense is still disrupting. If you didn't score, we are still trapping.

@@erikmanguslehnsherr4389exactly. A good coach knows that if we could at least get you to “stop and setup”, we’ve already disrupted your offense. This guy should be teaching his team how to get the ball up quickly to score against a press. Then the other coach has no choice but to get out of it.

Absolutely amazing how these D1 college players don't look to go middle first against a 2 - 2 - 1 . . . My 7th graders know this haha

It's because they will collapse hard. Because of so many years of playing, everyone knows the middle is the key to breaking ilthe D so it's usually covered in a way where they can jump the passing lane and take the ball. They do need to do a better job of flashing the middle to make it harder for the collapse to happen on the catch, but mainly you want to shift their first level defenders east and west while advancing up to push them back a bit. limited dribbles for the advance (like 2 max when advancing) to make that pass availabe, and you will need the back outlet to be almost right behind the ball handler so they can pull the defenders up the other side and shift them again for another chance of available pass lanes
