Loukoumades | Greek Crunchy Sweet Dumplings

Ingredients
Ingredients for The Donut
250 grams of Cake Flour, can be mixed with Bread flour.
300-310 ml Warm Milk Solution or Warm Water (200 ml Milk + Water).
30 grams or 2 tbsp Cornstarch.
1 tsp Sugar.
8 grams or about 1 tbsp Instant Yeast.
½ tsp. Baking powder.
½ tsp. Vanilla Powder.
2 tbsp. Cooking Oil.
Ingredients for the Syrup
180 grams Sugar.
150 ml of Water.
3 Indian cardamom, replaceable with 1 tsp. Vanilla powder or 2 drops of liquid vanilla or 1 stick of cinnamon.
½ drops of dark yellow colored Food coloring.
1 to 2 tbsp. Pure Honey, Optional.
½ tsp Refined Salt.
1 to 2 tsp Lemon or Lime Juice.
Additional Ingredients
Chocolate jam or other toppings.
Note
It’s better to serve this Loukumades with the help of Toothpicks to make it easier to take them.
For the frozen version, you can just fry the original Loukumades until it's stiff, not golden brown yet. Remove, chill. Then pack in a closed container. Store in the freezer as usual.
It can last longer, around 3 to 6 months, depending on the quality of the packing and the stability of the electricity in the house.
Once we need it, just re-fry it until golden brown.
For another luxurious version, besides replacing cornstarch with custard, there are also those who add about 2 tbsp. of Zabadi aka plain yogurt to the dough.
So yeah, there are really many variants of the Loukumades Donut dough, just choose according to taste.
