From what I understand, vocal cracks are non-intentional and caused by excessive pushing or fatigue, and vocal breaks are intentional, somethimes caused by emotions, is that correct, idk.

Something I’ve noticed throughout this selection of clips is that she *lacks vocal stamina.* Vocal stamina means how long you can maintain a healthy voice, without beginning to strain, getting a tired voice or getting vocals cracks etc. She clearly lacks stamina, and her voice gets tired easily especially on higher belts. As she’s gotten older, she’s improved on this flaw. If you’ve seen, Demi recently posted a video of her singing a G5 very clearly, no strain, super healthy. She’s done what’s called *vocal recovery.* Vocals recovery is usually done to recover after damaging your vocal chords. You take training, rest your voice and discover new techniques to support your voice and so you can sustain more notes. Demi has recovered after numerous songs she’s performed many times that incorporate very high belts. Now she has a much healthier voice, and can reach higher notes without damaging her voice.

Basically the same when we talk about how they are produced, but the vocal crack is unintentional (the singer COULDN'T hit the note properly and it cracked) and the break is intentional (the singer WANTED to add that break in that moment).
