I can see making this a vegetarian version using spinach & mushrooms, or even using autumn veggies like butternut squash, sweet potatoes, and shredded zucchini with black beans with a side salad. I'd even use this minus the "sauce" and make a fast dessert of cream cheese topped with a fruit jam, or even using pumpkin pie filling and cream cheese for the middle..... So many great options, thanks Dean family for sharing!

Delicious!!!! I can’t believe the little one is already two! I remember when he was newly born when Paula was doing the Quarantine Cooking. Time flies by way too fast. That baby is SUCH A CUTIE PIE! I made a version of this, only "Reuben ized" it, using shaved corned beef, swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and 1000 island dressing, and some caraway seeds sprinkled inside. Also, an easy finger food would be to use the crescent triangles as is, and roll up your meat, cheese, kraut and dressing and bake individual, easy to eat crescent sandwiches!

I have my after Thanksgiving sandwich idea. We always have a 1:00 Thanksgiving dinner out and then go home to play and watch games etc. By 6:00 we get hungry again and put out cold cuts , rolls etc . I think l am going to make this with half ham and half roast beef ! Thanks for posting this recipe !

This would be perfect for a tailgate, road trip, and even camping 🏕️. My family and I always go camping for Labor Day weekend. This would be perfect to have for that day when we're stuck indoors because of the rain. Better yet a movie night at home curled up in blankets on the living room floor.
