I might give this one a try. If for no other reason than to have something quick and easy for a cold night when I just want comfort food. BTW = Tell your loved ones you need an immersion blender for Christmas. It would have saved you a lot of extra work on just this one recipe. I didn't think I would use mine much when I first got it, but now I can't do without it. The Kitchenaide even comes with a rubber guard so you can use it right in your non stick pans without hurting them.

I add a tablespoon of peanut butter to my pinto beans while cooking - a little garlic- add salt at last 30 minutes of cooking -- beans cook faster if you add salt at last 30 minutes-- makes a nice bean broth-- I use about 3 tablespoons of avocado oil

Have not made peanut soup in years. Had a recipe from Texas which impressed many guests. This reminds me of it. Try this friends! Edit: As mentioned, I have had hot and chilled. Hot is best!

This sounds like a good recipe for hard times. Broth, peanut butter, flour, and veggies for flavor. You could probably use milk, cream or full fat powdered milk (Nido brand) and maybe serve with some homeade croutons or even cheese. (I love cheese and pb) We stock up on pb because it lasts a long time. Great idea!

Natural peanut butter chicken marinade is very good. I generally grill it, but it almost tastes like fried chicken, but not, and leaves a little bit of crust. It's natural pb, garlic, soy sauce, and just enough water to thin it out. The stir kind of pb works the best because it is thinner.

A hearty soup thats not full of carbs... thank you so much. But just as a splurge I wonder what a jelly sandwich would be like served with the soup. Or even a syrup sandwich. Yes surely you all have heard of a peanut butter and syrup sandwich.. savory soup and the sweetness from the sandwich.

I love soups. M paternal grandmother made the best soups. She made a lot of vegetable soups, and some also had some type of meat, but each one tasted different and oh so delicious! I couldn't get enough if them.

I grew up eating PB soup in Wisconsin! Yummy! Mom used veggie broth, not chicken broth and served with jelly sandwiches and roasted peanuts!

I have had peanut soup before. It is delicious but oh Paula now I know why it is so rich and creamy. Wow, going to try this but with lighter ingredients like ghee instead of butter, and light sour cream. Love ya and I do miss going to Marcs melon patch in Leesburg for some beautiful pumpkins and fall things. Durn, he had the best boiled peanuts I have ever had. Nothin comes close. Oh yumm getting hungry just thinking about them. lol You have a great time now. I know ya will.

I use my immersion blender instead of the processor. It will not hurt the pot. Just add a cup of the broth. Easier cleanup.

I love a toasted English muffin and then spread some cookie butter on it and it melts and gets all delicious. I’m 51 we can do what we want! LOL By the way I bought myself some tiny spatulas and a tiny whisk and I am in love, you can use that tiny little whisk in the 2 cup measuring cup and it works so perfectly and those little spatulas will get into the tiniest little jars. They are so handy. Do you have any suggestions about melting cream cheese in a soup? It always leaves like tiny little specs of it that will not melt no matter how long it cooks. I use it in my potato soup and even though it tastes OK it looks terrible.

Have you tried tempering the cream cheese? Put your softened, room temperature cream cheese in a bowl. Slowly add a ladle or so of hot broth, while whisking vigorously. Pour that mixture back into your soup pot and whisk until combined. Tempering allows the cheese to come to the same temperature as the hot broth, but slowly, so it doesn't curdle. Same with eggs and sour cream.

It's Peanut Soup. Sometimes there are just no GOOD substitutes, even any other nut. Make a sweet potato or garbanzo bean soup for your friends instead.

Is that metal in a non stick pot? Good way to eat teflon. I would think it's clumpy at the end (after you added sour cream) because oil and fat and water (from the celery) don't mix.
