My absolute favorite memory was being 5. My baby sister was born on October 27, 1986. I was dressed as Oscar the Grouch 🤣🤣. My parents drove me to friends and family to trick or treat. When they came to the door I’d say, “Trick or Treat, do you want to see my baby?!” That Halloween was 36 years ago and I’m still just as proud of my “baby”!

My favorite Halloween memory is when I lived in a small town in Hobbs, New Mexico in the late 50’s or it might have been 1960. My Dad worked at a Gasoline Plant, and they had housing for all the employees that worked at that plant. My sister, which was 8 years older than me, had to take me around the camp houses to go Trick or Treating. We got bottles (small glass {8oz.}) of Coke-a-Cola & Dr. Pepper, popcorn balls and candied apples, we got oranges and cookies and candy! I can remember getting back home and just by Mother & Daddy looking at I all I had, they knew exactly where we had been!! I would love for my grandkids to be able to go and Trick-or-Treat as I did when I was a small kid!! People that put things in candy and drinks and even in food are sick!! Their’s always something going to come up where it ruins Halloween, Birthdays, or whatever you might celebrate! I don’t understand why anyone would want to deliberately hurt another person intentionally!! I can remember when our kids were little and going Trick-or-Treat with them and for a while they had lots of fun, but then we just would take them to the school’s Halloween Party and they had cake walks and all kinds of games where they could win candy, cakes, fruit and drinks! My favorite memory was the year I had a huge Halloween Party for my 2 preschool sons. It was so much fun. We had simple crafts and great cookies and snacks for everyone. Love this memory.

My favorite Halloween memory goes back to 1975 when I was in college. Our college was having a Halloween Party at a bear by restaurant. I went as a pregnant bride and my roommate was the groom. Our other roommate went as the great pumpkin. We walked off with all the prizes that night, best couple and best individual costume. The prizes were a fifth of scotch and two fifths of vodka. The after party was at our place! Great memories! Those cookies look Amazing! I have a cookie recipe for Christmas Sugar Cookies and they are delicious! I might make some tomorrow for Halloween and frost them. I don’t use Butter because of health reasons. I use Margarine, please don’t judge me. Love you all.❤️

One memory that i’l never forget, after trick/treating we could pick out 3 pieces of candy, my brother aftr eating his candy grab my one candy ate it then lied saying he never touched it, I got into trouble and he got to eat another piece of candy, I then thru a fit, big arrangement between me and my mother, durng that time my brother went into his bag ate 10 or more pieces of candy, when it was time to say Gdnite to parents, my brother leaned over to my mother threw up everywhere, on her/bed even the dog needed a wash, good memories..

My favorite Halloween memory was a party that my boyfriend took me to when I was around 15 years old. There was a guy there scaring the bejeezes out of everyone. Just creeping up on everyone. Not my favorite Halloween memory but it was so traumatic to me that it eclipses all Halloweens to come. I believe I was 9. My older sister went out with her friends, my parents went to a party, I went with a friend of mine, and my brother was left at home to hand out the candy. Everything was going fine and I raked in a haul. This was back in the late 1980s so cell phones weren't a thing yet. Since I was little, I got done first, my sister was spending the night at her friend's house. I get home and all the lights are off. I can tell my brother is downstairs watching tv because I can see it through the blinds. I try the door and it's locked. I ring the doorbell and there is no answer. I bang on the window of the room he was watching tv in to no avail. I went to my friend's (the one I went trick or treating with) house to wait until my parents got home (I tried calling but he wouldn't answer the phone). Turns out that after everyone left my brother turned off all the lights, locked the door, and ate all the candy himself. When I was trying to get in my house earlier, he thought I was a trick or treater and that's why he didn't answer the door. First and last time he was left in charge.

Do you like it as an adult? Halloween is my least favorite holiday. I prefer pretty Fall decor bc skeletons and witches are ugly. I never liked dressing up and our kids never cared for costumes much either. It was kinda one of those holidays that you just went through the motions and did, for me at least. Honestly, I look forward to November 1st so that we can focus on pretty stuff like Christmas decor and lights and begin to celebrate Jesus's birth🥰
