I have long held Eugene in high esteem, recognizing him not only as a member of the Try Guys but also as an integral figure in my whole life. I vividly recall fervently following his journey during a significant chapter of my life, and in many ways, I have internalized his identity, character, and beauty. His conduct, unwavering thoughtfulness towards his loved ones (albeit subtly veiled by nonchalance), and his well-spoken and eloquent demeanor have profoundly shaped my perception of him. Bearing witness to his evolution as a prominent LGBTQ+ media personality has been an incredible and almost surreal privilege. Rarely have I encountered someone so unfiltered, authentic, and multifaceted. As he revealed different facets and unveiled layers of his being, my admiration and respect for him deepened. It is challenging to believe that such an extraordinary individual coexists on the same planet as I do. I consider it a great honor to have intersected with his life, despite the physical distance that separated us but bound us spiritually. I aspire to meet him again someday. He will always hold a special place in my heart, and I hope that, amidst all his endeavors, he preserves a space in his soul where the spirit of the Try Guys endures. ❤

It should be highlighted again and again that Eugene sacrificed so much and delayed his departure to support his friends, to be a united front and defend his company against someone who betrayed them and risked everything. as an illustrator who relies on social media for promoting my work but is also a private person, i've always understood and respected eugene taking a step back from certain parts of the try guys like the podcast. never have i ever took it as a personal affront or assumed it was coming from a place of elitism or arrogance, because ten years of eugene being as sincere as possible despite the fact that being accessible doesn't come naturally made it clear that that would never be the case with him. it never occurred to me to assume the worst, and i can only assume i'm not the only one who feels this way. eugene, you have being such a proud, eloquent, and important voice for east asians and queer folk for so many years. you've inspired so many to have the courage to be their true selves. i felt encouraged in my own endeavours to see that someone for whom social media didn't come naturally could still thrive in the space, and now i feel encouraged to see that you can change platforms/mediums and continue to thrive. i think one of the scariest parts of being a creative is needing to leave one thing behind to pursue something else and not always knowing if it will work. in that regard, eugene, you have been and will continue to be an incredible inspiration as both a human and an artist. thank you for sharing yourself and your work with us for so many years. good luck in all your incredible projects, i can't wait to enjoy them all.

I'm so unbelievably proud of Eugene. He's doing amazing things and i can't wait to see them. He's always been the odd one out of the group, even from the very beginning we knew he wanted to be the man behind the screen. He stayed so long for us and I'm so grateful for the times we've had with him. It's been an honor getting to know him all these years with what he was willing to share with us. I'm sad to see him go, but he deserves to work on things that make him the most happy and not feel obligated to share himself with the world. He didn't owe us anything, but gave us everything he could, and I feel so lucky that I've had the opportunity to appreciate him over the years. I've watched their content since the beginning, from buzzfeed to starting their own channel together, and every step since, and I will forever be grateful that I got to share this journey with them. Thank you, Eugene, for everything.

I think that many people have been guilty of that on occasion. Seeing Eugene on video with his fellow Try Guys and staff made people want to know more about him. I, at one point, wished that Eugene would explore video games that tell amazing stories since video games have become cinematic for over a decade or two. We fans eventually learn to respect boundaries, of course. Preferably the easy way.

Been a long time fan, 10 years and hopefully many more to come. I grew up with a very hard, emotionally distant, militant father. Eugene, you wouldn't know it, but you helped me confront that closed-off, emotional side of myself. I've been more open with myself and my feelings as I've watched you grow and do the same. You are a national effing treasure and deserve to be treated like one. So run, Eugene. Run like the goddamn wind and we will be here, catching the aerials and watching the pictures you leave in the dust.

We *don't* deserve a comprehensive explanation. Eugene doesn't *owe* us anything, but it's incredibly kind of him to share this with us, to bare his soul and say a sentimental goodbye when he doesn't have to. I personally am SO excited to see his writing and directing and everything else he's passionately working on come to light, and I'm glad he'll have more time to actually invest in the things that are closest to his heart. I'm also glad to see The Try Guys and Second Try grow and change in a way that gives them creative freedom, untethered from the increasingly impossible chase of trying to follow an algorithm and base so much of a company's finances off of ad revenue. I haven't decided yet whether the subscription service will be worth it for me, but I don't in the slightest have a problem with their decision, and I look forward to seeing what comes of the new creative freedom and more diverse cast.

On one hand you are right that he doesn't "owe" anyone anything. But he became a huge inspiration especially for young Asians and LGBTQ people that dropping out without saying anything could have been damaging. Eugene wearing all black to mark the end of his era, and Keith and Zach in more muted versions of their Second Try colors as if to acknowledge the melancholy of this change. I've been watching Try Guys since before they even left Buzzfeed, and you all shaped my childhood. I have never really had friends, and struggled with maturing like my peers. Now, even as an adult, I still find comfort in coming back to laugh with the people that have always been on the other side of the screen for me, always making laugh and feel included in the joke. Even when everyone else grew up and moved on, the Try Guys make me happy and have never once disappointed my expectations. Thank you all for being my friends, for inspiring me and for being a constant in my life. I know you'll probably never see this, but in honor of our decade-long parasocial relationship, I wanted to say goodbye. On so many lonely nights, when all I had was a phone in my hand and on one to call, the Try Guys videos were the reason I stayed, literally. Watching Eugene go from one of the most the distant, "tough" and withdrawn try guys to growing into a confident, affectionate, open and dare I say most vulnerable has been an amazing experience to witness. I know without Keith and Zach showing him acceptance, brotherhood and undying support he never would've become this breaming proud man chasing after his passions and his dreams. The who shall not be named left alone with his head down in shame but Eugene is able to leave with his head held high, still surrounded and supported by his brothers from another mother knowing he'll be able to show up with occasional appearances in future videos. I know someday his new work will grace homes all over the world, create a whole new genre of adoring fans and he'll keep growing the happiness he has found. I hope he has an amazing pride month next month and I look forward to seeing him in future videos

"Bittersweet" is the perfect way to describe this feeling. I've been watching The Try Guys since that first video dropped on Buzzfeed of y'all trying on women's underwear and now we're here. Eugene, it has been a gift to get to know you. I know it was hard but thank you for sharing so much with us, especially when it was uncomfortable and difficult to do so. Your growth, both personal and professional, has been a privilege to witness and I wish you nothing but the best. I'm also so so so excited to see your projects come to life and I look forward to supporting you in those endeavors. We're proud of you. We love you. Thank you for being you. You're one of the reasons we stayed too.

I haven't been watching TTG as much as I've done in the past, but watching this video made me think about the amazing memories and laughter Eugene brought me as a fan in those past years. Thank you, I'm happy for you, I wish you the best, that's all I can say.

I finally gathered the strength to watch this video. I've been avoiding it because I was scared to close this chapter, even though I knew it was coming. Zach, Keith, and Eugene have taught me so much-how to love myself, how to communicate, and how to form my own opinions. Your videos have been a constant source of support and inspiration. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to watch (almost) all of your videos. You all have been there for me through various times, and for that, I want to say thank you. Especially to Eugene, thank you so much! I wish you all the best-you've got this!

I remember thinking how much Eugene seemed to thrive in fashion, film, and art rather than the open comedy skit scene. I'm so happy he's making decisions for himself to allow himself to grow into what he truly wants and finds joy in. I've always rooted for you Eugene and I could never say this to you irl but I hope to continue to see you shine in the places you shine brightest!!!

Honestly comforting to hear someone accepting themselves in wanting to be less public about their life. Not something you see frequently these days

YES. I wish he said this at the start rather than at the end. I was one of those who began to sorta resent him and thought he wasn't interested in being with the rest because he was somehow better. He doesn't owe anyone an explanation, but the context certainly is understandable and I respect him for expressing that.

TOTALLY. People obviously become VERY curious about the guy's lives because the whole brand is about being relatable and open. But if you're a private person who's working through your own stuff, that is TOUGH. And I totally get his issue with feeling like people think they're OWED time from him. He owes us nothing. I'm glad to have seen the content he was in and am glad that he's exploring different spaces that drive his creativity.

I’ve loved watching you flourish in without a recipe and without instructions! I’m equally excited to see and read your upcoming projects. Thank you for being open with us. Knowing you are doing what is best for you and your mental health makes this bittersweet end bearable. Love a longstanding fan ❤

I appreciate them soft launching Eugene saying goodbye instead of other companies bending over backwards to hide changes until the last moments. Not only does it make me respect them but it shows they respect us

I've never realized it, but I have been here the whole 10 years and I absolutely, fully, and truly empathize with Eugene and his story. I still deeply remember and cherish the music video he made years ago about his story. Even if he won't be in the public eye as much as he used to be, he will remain just as much of a role model to me and my story, as I'm sure he will to many others. Thank you for staying as long as you did and making an impact on so many young queers. ♥️

Every step of Eugene's creative journey has been amazing to witness. I relished each step of his growth, crying at his coming out video, cheering seeing him at the met gala, and laughing with the show Nimona. Even though he is formally leaving the channel I look forward to seeing him try more activities and projects in the future. Love and appreciate you Eugene!

I can't even be sad. Eugene was always meant to become a director and writer, and I'm so happy he is finally fulfilling his destiny. We all know how incredible you are in what you do, I can't wait to continue to be a fan in every endeavour you partake in. Farewell my friend, see you soon!

Eugene was the reason I got into watching Try Guys in the first place. I've always loved his chaos, creativity, and sheer force of presence. And while I'm a little sad to see the end of an era with his departure, I'm even more excited to see what he does in the future. His passion and talent behind the camera are just as amazing (if not even greater!) than what he brings on camera. Eugene, thank you for all that you've shared with us over the years as part of the Try Guys. You are incredible, and truly irreplaceable. I absolutely cannot wait to see what you do next!! ❤️
