Great stuff Barkey, always happy to see some of Lugosi’s lesser-known films get some love. The man was a tremendous actor, whose career should have been far more of a triumph than it turned out to be, but he still left us with some true classics 🙂 Some other favorites of mine that allowed him to show the diversity in his acting ability are 1934’s “The Black Cat”, 1942’s “Bowery at Midnight”, and 1946’s “Scared to Death”. Also fun is his turn as titular mystic hero Chandu in 1934’s “The Return of Chandu” 😁

Great review Barkey. Bela had the creepy guy looks so horror was appropriate.

Bela Lugosi in my book will always be the king of horror. Some of his films may have come from poverty road, but they are always fun.

Went to the pet store to find a barky dog and they told me that Barkey J Dog was one of a kind so I left empty handed. Okay. Guess this is the only place to get the Barkey J Dog fix. Fair enough. Good subject for a video.

Bela Lugosi was good in "Black Friday", the movie I always mistake for "Donovan's Brain".

I love Devil Bat! I have it on this 3 movie compilation, also with Last Man on Earth and Count Dracula and his vampire bride. Clearly Devil Bat is the best between them. Thanks for the review, I`m gonna watch it now!

The role of Dracula was a blessing and a curse - almost like being a vampire. On the positive side, have you ever seen You'll Find Out? It's a mashup teaming Lugosi, Karloff, and Lorre with a band leader named Kay Kyser. It's a fun movie.

I'm sure I have that on on Karloff/Lugosi collection. Been a long while since I saw it, though.

Much like Lon (Creighton) Chaney Jr. He may only be remembered for Lawrence Talbot/the Wolf-Man but he was so good in the role, nobody has been able to surpass him. Bela's Dracula is still unique,. Christopher Lee did a fine job but he wasn't Dracula as we classic horror fans know him.
