I always found this a happy song. It originally came out in 1978. I love the original, it’s just a bouncy song sung by Australian singer John Paul Young.I am Australian by the way ,always loved this song.Interesting: One cameraman definitely had his eye on the blond flutist. Lots of foot tapping too, they definitely are enjoying this.

I loved it back in 1977. It then had a second run with that great little film “ Strictly Ballroom”. This version extremely wel done. The conductor doesn’t overdo it, it still has the feel of a great pop song. A real toe tapper.

Great Australian song composed by George Young and Harry Vanda, sung by John Paul Young all arrived in Australian as child migrants. I have never heard this beautiful melody played better, well Gimnazija Krang !

John Paul Young’s version was an absolute stand out. Am Australian & I remember it clearly. I also remember it help make a great little Australian Movie “Strictly Ballroom” movie a classic in Australia.
