Ananya's parents feel they have found the perfect guy for her and are setting up her arranged marriage. But whether the guy is perfect or not, is the least of Ananya's concerns. Somehow, she has to break it to her unsuspecting parents that she can never get married to a guy or any guy for that matter, because she is a lesbian. But even if she gathers up enough courage to tell them, will they accept her? Will her younger brother be of help or only make matters worse? Recently my cousin came out to me that he's into men. I'm in full support of him not because of this verdict or something but I believe they need more acceptance. Mere words of sympathy won't work. I have gay friends who have been well accepted by their parents and friends. Their parents probably took some time, but they did accept them without hurling abuses or taking them to some ojha or baba. Educated parents staying in metro cities are a bit comfortable, I guess.
