Absolutely beautiful! Not sure if anyone else has ever heard this, but when I was a little girl there was an older gentleman at our church whenever we sang this hymn he would substitute "John 3:16" for "Love Lifted Me"... So, it would be: John 3:16, John 3:16. When nothing else could help, John 3:16. John 3;16, John 3:16. When nothing else could help, John 3;16. I cannot hear this song without thinking of that, and remembering all the fond memories I had of that "little old man" when I was growing up!

My mother raised me and my sister singing gospel along side her as she played the piano or organ. As an adult with my own singing children, she asked me and a couple of my daughters to join her singing this song at a special service at a nearby church. I never thought it affected me so deeply until I found myself trying to recover from my mothers passing. It has been 5 years and this song has been stuck in my head as I’ve thanked God for my newest grandchild. I’m certain my momma kissed her before she came here from heaven. My favorite song also. I love the way they did it, it's my testimony how the love of Jesus saved this wretched women.
