Since RPG just means roleplaying game, it could even be just a visual novel. It's probably referring to there being an actual player character and choices within the game, rather than a combat system.

My theory for what they mean by rpg is that instead of collecting cards you will play songs to help your characters level up. Skill points could be used to unlock abilities during live songs. Outfits would then give additional bonuses and stats similar to armor in other games. The "role playing" aspect is probably just determining how you want to build your teams and choosing which abilities/outfits to take to a live show.

LOL I can already hear my phone screaming in agony because all of the useless story data from so many idol games. Hmm what if all of the girls go to Nijigasaki school? It being full-fledged idol school like in Aikatsu. Sadly I have no idea if there has been any mention of the original schools since hardcore following isn't easy when your Japanese skills are lacking. But anyway, it would explain how all of the girls are idols at the same time and how they are somewhat friends. I suspect that if the player is a student in the school we will get (maybe) some sort of a character maker and the idolsona will be shown instead of a card in a profile since the description sounded that it will include the player a lot more to the story. Also that Chika on that promo art. I'm crying she's so beautiful.

Honestly, the only thing that feels off to me about that animation is that the lighting is just a static addition to their bodies/outfits. Unfortunately, dynamic lighting can be one of the most programmatically expensive things to implement. It would be nice if they could maybe implement an option available for higher end phones.

I think what an RPG really means is that you assume the role of someone and have the characters interact with you on the whole story. LLSIF characters only interact within the prologue and the side stories and not the main story. I'd get a Love live RPG too like that guy and do H things like holding hands. If allstars makes me interact and let me date those girls I'd pay a fuckload of money for that. For now, i'm playing BD:GBP.

If you base it on an rpg then isn’t idol master a ‘role playing game where you are in charge of the idol agency’ or whatever and bandori is where ‘your working at the live house the idols go to’???
