Nct is good ...but hearing their version is still basic because exo has made it to their level...in rap part when i was watching live i missed Chanyeol's voice because he have more depth in his voice plus his flow....

EXO sounds sooo deeper while Dreams more soft. I still prefer EXO one bc whenever I had two pairs of AirPod I was focusing on exos side wo noticing or forcing

well that might also be because exo just have much stronger vocalists than nct dream😭 chenbaeksoo might be the best vocal trio in all of kpop and chen is widely considered the best male kpop vocalist! dream on the other hand have renjun and chenle who have very weak vocal technique; right now they’re the only main vocalists in sm who don’t have a consistent supported range, which is very unfortunate. Which is why their voices are often very thin and shallow and lack any real weight. Haechan is the only with one in dream with vocal technique strong enough to kind of keep up with THE exo vocal trio (make no mistake he also has a lot to improve). If you hear carefully, since the songs are overlapping and the parts are too, to can hear how the og singers (be it chen, baek or DO or even lay) COMPLETELY drown out the parts sung by renjun or chenle😭 chenle was even given baekhyun’s “oooooh yeahhh” adlib and he changed it to a falsetto when baekhyun had originally sung it in mixed voice. The only voice peeking out in the cover is HAECHAN’S, I can hear him loud and clear when he hits DO’s high note (as in i can hear both DO and him very clearly) Haechan’s chest voice belting, while not perfect, is very strong and piercing. Whereas when chenle sings at the same time as baekhyun, baekhyun’s voice completely drowns his out

I always prefer Exo's vocals cause its beyond perfect. Dream's cover is cute and soft.❤ I'm glad they gave D.O's high note part to Haechan as I love both of their mix register. Renjun was close behind Haechan who caught my eyes. As much as I love Mark's rapping which I believe is the best in SM as of yet but I wish that instead of going with the usual flow technique he's used off, he could put some emphasis on the rawness of the lyrics; hence making you feel the emotions of the song instead of flow of rap. I wish he used his technique from Cherry Bomb where he emphasis on the words. Jisung was good keeping up with most of Sehun's verses, as were other members except that their voices were easily overshadowed by the OG voices instead of being overlapped.

Everything was right except the part that baekhyun sang in perfect mixed voice, that last "ooo yeah" was in heady dominant falsettos mix, not proper mix cuz even chen can't belt proper mix till F5, no one in Kpop can except for Wendy and Taeyon. So it was a nasal heady dominant somewhat mix which was not connected to the chest, it was entirely from the throat and nasal with heady falsetto.

@ you’re right, but baekhyun definitely sounded MUCH stronger than whatever chenle did 😭like I said, that note was definitely too much for chenle and completely weakened/softened it as much as possible into a breathy falsetto. That note in particular should have gone to Haechan because he has hit notes like that in dream songs and sounds eerily like baekhyun when he does so, the same throaty/shouty head dominant mix

@@hyuckAH06 actually baekhyun had more control and he used his dynamics to maintain that beautiful tone, that's why it didn't sound pitched but just right for the song, that's why he is a genius idol you know

@hyuckAH06 by the way baekhyun is my bias from EXO because of his heaven like yet strong vocals and on top of that versatility, although chen is more proficient but baekhyun had that nuance that I like more.
