Ohhhhh have I got THE recommendation for you! In fact I was really **expecting** this to be ON your list. I'm talking about "2.5 Dimensional Seduction", on HiDive. It's THE CLOSEST romance anime to Dressup Darling being that.... it's ALSO ABOUT COSPLAY. Ririsa and Okumura, the otaku who runs the Manga club at school, brought together because she cosplays his absolute favorite anime/manga character, Liliel. And as you'd expect, show brings in other cosplayers to the cast bringing in different styles and motivations for why they cosplay, exploring the cosplay culture at the convention scene, from friendships to rivalries, the tight knit community, the challenges of marketing yourself. In fact as far as the con scene goes I think this goes more in depth than Dressup Darling. Does help that this has a 24 ep run, only 2 remaining at the time I'm posting this. Oh and guess I should explain the title. The main co-lead Okumura got burned by real girls in his early (inexperienced) romantic pursuits so he "swore off 3D, and now can only love 2D girls (fiction)". Of course a 3D (real) girl who can bring his 2D passions to life in cosplay, means Ririsa enters his life far more than any girl before. Yeah, expect a **slow burn** romance, haha.
