So cool seeing the before and after re-inking the archival ink pad versions! The Scorched Timber gave a lovely mushroom brown kind of tone on that final card, I really like it. I'd have never thought to use the alcohol ink paper for a technique like this, so thanks for sharing that! I really love the tones on the friendship card, the softness of the Milled Lavender looks lovely framed with the white and I love the way you did that sentiment too, it's delish! Right?! It sure helps to reink your ink pads! 😂 What a difference. It’s so fun to experiment with color combos with this technique. I can go through an entire pack of alcohol ink paper in once session if I don’t control myself.

Thanks so much for sharing. I had never seen this technique. I didn’t get what you changed in the second card (with the scorched timber) to get the look you were looking for. I easn’t planning on getting this set since I’m not into Valentines but now I have to get it!! Thanks!!

Hi Marcela, on the second Scorched Timber one I re-inked the Archival pads. I’m not sure when I did that last, and they didn’t have enough ink on them with my first attempt. So I added more ink to the pads with the Reinker and tried again and it worked. So it was a good reminder to me and anyone watching to remember to re-ink your ink pads. 😁 Thanks so much for you kind comments and for watching!

This is a fun technique. I need to give it a try. Could you stamp over the first one using Oxides? I know it's not quite the same, but maybe it would save the background.

That’s a good idea to try. It would make a very interesting combination. The oxide would be flat/matte and the rest would be glossy. If I wanted it all glossy again I’d need to go over it with Microglaze which would then change the color and opacity of the oxide. 🤪 It might be fun to try though. Otherwise, it makes a subtle background the way it is that can let the a lighter focal point shine. Thanks so much for the suggestion, and thanks for watching Jodie!

I think this stamp set is amazing…I know I will get it …but I don’t have the alcohol ink paper….can it be done on glossy paper?? Thank you for sharing!

Hi Arlene, I’m not sure how it will work on other glossy papers, so I would say just give it a try on a small scrap and see how it goes. I think some glossy paper is porous so it could work, but if it isn’t porous, it won’t. The inks won’t dry. If it does work, please come back and let me know what type and brand. I'd also love to know if you get good results. I will try it on some photo paper I have. I use those a lot with my alcohol inks.,
