'Let us once lose our oaths to find ourselves, or else we lose ourselves to keep our oaths.' Fantastic! Many lovely rhymes. Grand Production!

This play is basically helping me save my grade in my Shakespeare class. I hated reading the play -- reading along with this audio now actually allows me to catch the jokes and enjoy it.

It's a little after the fact now but how did you do? 🤣 I am of the firm opinion that Shakespeare student should be started off by watching the movie and then listening to the radio performance of whichever play they are studying - before they come within a mile of actually reading it. They are, after all, PLAYS.... and Shakespeare wrote them not to be read, but to be watched and performed.

My school is doing this play now It's a love/hate thing for me though. We had to shorten it to fit in an hour. Now it's basically the ten most important scenes highly whittled down. Everyone, including the director and abridger, thinks it's a high disservice to the Bard. But at least we have some culture at all.

I understand. I loved him in Much Ado, and then after that I always felt like I was watching Benedick as ______. He always just grabs the best parts and fills everyone else in. He's a good actor, but he makes every production into Branagh and Shakespeare's _____.
