I couldn’t sleep as usual so was letting my fingers explore You Tube and I was surprised to learn this still exists. I was a CX FA in the late 70’s & was one of the FA’s in national costume representing the Philippines (see the print ad in the 1st quarter of the video). Reminiscing my youth in the good old days of Cathay & Hong Kong.

キャセイパシフィック航空のCM本当に涙が出る程 懐かしいです。 キャセイパシフィックさんには何度か利用させて頂きましたが、 もう40年近く前に当時着陸が世界一難しいと言われていた 香港の啓徳空港に特に夜便で着陸する時には、 漆黒の海から香港の陸地に入ると急に眩いばかりの 艶やかな電飾の街並みが視界に入って来たかと思うと、 高層ビルの真上をまるでビルの間を縫う様に飛行した時の夜景は 余りの素晴らしさに今もしっかり記憶に残っています。 本当に懐かしくて、私にとっても本当に良い時代でした。

I lived in Thailand as mid 1970s. Flew a lot on CX 707 and L1011 to Hong Kong to Manila to Bangkok. Much later on in life 743, 744, 772 and 333.. Not that awsome airliners any more..! Since a flight to Jakarta in 2013, I deciceded never to fly on CX again. I don t understand, because the airliners is fantastic. Did I was unfortune and had 4 bad flights in a row? Come on Cathay -I always thought you where better than Singapore!!

I underderstand a litttle, I worked for the airlines in the UK and US (not on planes) in the late 70’s to mid 80’s. It was a fun time and passengers were a lot better behaved. I hope you got to travel and make the most of your time.

I always feel airlines underestimate boarding and landing music. It stays with me forever. Emirates using Wonderful Life on approach was great...And Barry White's love theme will always be Cathay's music. I remember it on TV in Australia when I was a kid, how LONG it went for (well worth whatever it was that they paid for the time ) and the shots of the 747's flying over buildings near Kai Tak. I fell in love with the airline and the city back then, well before I even went to HK or flew CX.

Oh the glory days of HKG and Cathay Pacific! Loved to see that final turn to Kai Tak! I worked the CX flights at Manila International Airport in the late '70's. Was such a great airline.

Wow and if you're lucky this can be your boarding music on a JFK/EWR to PER via HKG or JFK/EWR to MNL via HKG the JFK/EWR MNL via option beats its competitor on HKG-MNL for 76 years PR which runs the direct JFK-MNL PR127. Basically, it means CX > PR anytime same with Star Alliance SQ OZ NH & BR > PR.
