If the stitches were to keep him smiling then they would be on just the ends of his mouth or around the outside of his mouth. And while yes there are some on the ends of his mouth like I said, it is normal for that type of closing stitch (the stitch to keep him quiet) as a way to tie it off. Think about it. Whenever the deal is mentioned he either avoids it all together or talks about it enough to where he doesn’t say who it was with or what the deal was.

Something I found interesting about this is his shadow, if the theory is true that his shadow shows his true emotions then seeing it here is very important. if you noticed during the final fight with Adam after Alastor gets hurt the shadow is clearly frowning/showing it's in pain, then later in this song we see the shadow again when he's saying the word altruist it's smile seems to get bigger. My thought is maybe a small part of him truly likes the idea of being there to help them and the thought makes him panic as evidenced by the look on his face in the next frame. And when we see the shadow again it's when he says he will be pulling all the strings, we see the shadow grow bigger and have an even larger smile showing he gave into his darker wishes. I definitely believe alastor will be a major villain at some point in the show there are just too many signs that point to that being a very likely fact. What I'm hoping is that the friendship and bonds he made will end up eventually swaying him to the side of good but honestly with him who knows. If nothing else we know one thing for certain he wants out of the deal he's stuck in. So excited for season 2!

I think Lilith sent Al to stop Charlie from succeeding. I think the deal she made with Adam was as long as she stayed out the way and didn’t try to fight heaven she could stay in heaven. But Charlie’s hotel was a threat to the natural order of things and her deal with Adam. So she sent Al to make sure it failed.

Okay, hear me out. I think this song is as black and white as it comes. See, Despite Alastor's perma-grin, Subtle changes in his expression and body language convey his TRUE emotions. Look as his face as he sings "Great Alastor, Altruist, died for his friends?!" It's Alastor in denial of the fact that he considers the hotel residents, beings he knows that are lesser than himself, friends. Alastor, an overlord, is only used to "friendships" with other overlords that are solely transactional and have no genuine care or emotion behind them and, he can't cope with these new feelings. "Sorry to disappoint, that is NOT where this ends" is him trying to convince himself and any potential observers that he's still as dangerous and ruthless as he used to be. "I'm hungry for freedom like never before! The constraints of my deal surely have a back door." is Alastor trying to find a way to back out of whatever deal he made previously that is, apparently, limiting his power. "Once I figure out how to unclip my wings, guess who will be pulling all the strings!" Is Alastor, again, trying to convince himself that once he truly has all the cards back in his hand, these feelings of love and friendship will just go away and he'll go back to how he was and, he'll finally be free from all the ties that bind him and, he'll once again go back to being the radio demon everyone was terrified to cross 7 years ago.

Alastor didn’t die for his friends. He was a coward who ran. I think he is ashamed for running and confused because it’s out of his character. He was not powerful enough to defeat Adam and protect Charlie. Alastor is not altruistic. He does not want to gamble his life for others, yet is becoming emotionally entangled with Charlie and the hotel. Maybe the key to Alastor’s freedom is the ultimate sacrifice… looking forward to season 2!!!!
