It requires one with an advanced sense of humor to understand how hilarious the concept and dialog actually is. Aaron Magruder knew what he was doing and didn't fail. People tend to comment that he stopped making the animated Boondocks to do this, but recognize the fact that he quit writing the Boondocks comic strip; witch was replete with current topical humor in order to focus on the show. It's called evolution. Get your heads from out of your asses and laugh for Jesus' sake! God dammit!

At first I thought this was gonna be either (A) racist or (B) just plain silly, but as it developed, I found myself (1) feeling real empathy and emotion for the characters and (2) seeing clearly (all the moreso as time went on) the message of the Lord. It's not just a joke, cultural or otherwise - and the show manages to include a lot of real-life social issues that are current and need a good dose of Faith. This show surprised me, and my housemates. I am sincerely hoping there's a Season 2. Among other things (spoiler alert) I want them to get back that Garden. Parking lot, my a$$!!! WILD HORSES couldn't keep us from watching. (I love the scene where Jesus comes down the sidewalk on that gorgeous steed.)

By calling Jesus " Black Jesus " people are focusing on the color of his skin and not of his works and for what he did for us. It's used by black people to boost their ego to feel as sort of empowerment from our Lord and Savior being the same color as us. I think it's wrong to even be looking at Jesus's skin color at all because it isn't important to what he has done for us. We shouldn't be looking at an image of Jesus, whether he is black or white, and instead be looking at his words. By having a black Jesus or a white Jesus, does it make what he did for us any different? He is Jesus, our Lord and Savior. We can't let Jesus who is so righteous and great be seen for the color of his skin. We should be looking in the Bible for his parables and his teachings, not for clues that can lead us to his appearance.
