I started watching Farscape because it was different. I like things that are different. I've heard a lot of people say they didn't like Farscape because it wasn't like Star Trek. Thank the Stars it wasn't like Star Trek!

A totally original vision. While I love the traditional SF franchises, this was unlike anything else. It ignored standard plot contrivances and had amazing, quirky, richly developed characters. Also, it never shied away from weirdness, which made it a wonderfully unpredictable ride. Damn, I miss this show.

I just went through the entire series a few weeks ago and let me tell you that it still is amazing to watch, it's still fun, it still hooks you. Sci fi shows of today don't even compare to the fun that was farscape.

Funny thing is, I'm only just now watching it for the first time, Just started season 2 last night. My god it holds up, because of the use of puppets you could broadcast this on cable now, and short of the aspect ratio you'd never know the difference.

Such a lovely cast, and they all worked SO WELL together! I loved watching this show back in the day, and I'll love watching it again I'm sure. I'm also so glad they got a proper sendoff with the Peacekeeper Wars. Also, to this day Scorpius is still one of my favorite villains of all time, mostly because he wasn't a caricature, but rather a more complex character. Excellent performances all! John Chrichton's journey from lost astronaut to interstellar badass was a joy to watch. Also digging the music here lol.

I LOVE Farscape but I also really enjoy Star Trek Discovery. The first season was quite shaky but after that it got pretty good! I think as sci-fi fans, we should be supporting these shows because if we want a richer, more diverse palette of sci-fi (and I would love for something to be as ambitous and interesting as Farscape again), we need to be showing that sci-fi has a big audience. I'm still frustrated about Stargate Discovery being axed so early. Not only was tv not ready for it (it would have been better as a binge watch than a weekly watch) but it was basically sabotaged by fans who were upset about Atlantis ending (and weren't prepared for a new spin on the core idea). We have to show that there is mileage and worth in other shows and that studios can lay down money for other ideas and older properties, not just Star Trek.

Loved watching this show as a kid and it still holds up when I watched it recently. I think it had a major influence on the Mass Effect games. I had great potential to grow into an entire franchise. Too bad it was forgotten.

Thats bad ass. And I loved BSG until towards the end where everyone almost turned out to be a Cylon. It was getting to "doing it for shock value" territory for me. I had zero issues with Farscape though. It ended on a high note.

Shhh!!!! Don't even THINK about a reboot or continuance of Farscape right now! Someone might actually try to do it, and we'd have Farscape reimagined where the Peacekeepers need to be defunded because they shoot an unarmed black Luxan. Chriton is played by a non-binary pansexual demi otherkin disabled small person of color. Rigel gets killed off out of scene in the 3rd episode because he gets cancelled. ...and there's no ship because the idea of a thinking think being in service like that is too close to slavery. Everything booted, rebooted, or sequelled in the last few years has been Destroyed by this nonsense that we watch shows to get away from... Please leave Farscape resting peacefully until it is Safe to bring it back.

Back in the late '90s, I got off work at 11pm and raced home [bicycle commuter, lived 2 miles away] so I could catch Farscape on cable [thankfully, we had Cox, & they included SciFi as part of the basic package...] Was really put out when SciFi changed the scheduling and bounced the show around. I never figured out, did SciFi hire former Fox execs who couldn't manage scifi shows, or was it the other way around? Whichever, both those networks needed to boot some of their overpaid execs making the bad decisions to the curb! Instead, they both kept canceling winners after the "ratings fell" because they kept rescheduling the showtimes w/o notice & losing audience for their efforts...

the bank heist at the end of season one is such a great episode in my opinion as it brings back a lot of the bad guys from earlier on in the season, with my favourite being the gauntlet guy who turned away from a life of violence only to take it back up again and his parting words to the group are something along the lines of "Thanks for reminding me the fun of violence, bye."
