Moniece and AD was never married or even engaged for that matter. The ex girlfriend was very clearly using their child as a way to not only get back at Moniece but remain in her life. Fizz has no relationship with AD so for her to come to him in the first place was to demonstrate a power play to Moniece that she could get access to her son even when Moniece doesn’t approved of it. Fizz wasn’t sticking up for Moniece in that scene, he was just using good ole common sense. Know the difference.

He also tried to help find out who had the sex tape by asking Jason Lee who had the tape?. Those are two times that I know he did stand up. Also when he had to check Moniece mom Marla and said "If you're going to be a mother Marla then I fell like you should support your daughter in her demise". I remember he broke out in tears because Moniece's own mother Marla told Fizz to take her to court and get full custody and he DIDN'T want to do that. Fizz wasn't always trying to be against her. I don't care for him too much but he did try to help her. It's just that they struggle with communication as parents. They've had their ups and downs co-parenting.
