The same here. I've been obsessed with two bands: YES, and Lovebites. YES was my psychic anchor during the 70s. I loved a lot of bands but not on the obsession level. YES faded, and for quite a while there wasn't any music that got to me except maybe Radiohead. Then along came Lovebites. I was hooked after watching a random KZbin video. I love musically complex, powerful, and melodic music. I am astounded at their musicality. I really want them to compose a 20-minute piece with 4 distinct movements.

Bloody boring, inept, untalented, inhibited and generally don't know how to present themselves properly. Although with such lame music, you can be a meter in terms of stage performance, still nothing will help. Lowbuts is a festering boil on the body of a metal titan. The only thing you should support them in is hints that they should shut down their circus and retire from music.

It is interesting to see the small amplification Midori and Miyako have compare to other metal bands who have big walls of Marshalls, just to show off. But Lovebites still sound great, don´t need big equipment.

They were touring in a basic van (band, staff, equipment and merch), so gear had to be at minimum. Fami had a somehow bigger amp. Standing right in front of Miyako in Paris I could not hear her guitar, the amp was not only small but also at low volume and Haruna drumming so hard covered it all. In Belgium with same placement I could hear Miyako's guitar quite nicely. This might have to do with the fact that guitars were on VHF in Paris, while they were cable plugged in Belgium.

I have to agree. all the Bands I'm listening to right now are 3 Japanese female bads, Nemophila, Band-Maid and Lovebites. And one All female Korean band named. Rolling Quartz. All 4 of these bands constantly bringing it. And they all actually like each other. They actually enjoy what they do and being together. It's not just about the money like the vast majority of western bands.

Some blog tried to list all of them and they are up to around 1000 all-ladies japanese bands (rock and metal, past and present), It is an unescapable rabbit hole. New bands every month, some last, some don't. :) And yes Rolling Quartz is to be added to the top ones though they are not japanese.

LOVEBITES is some 8 years old, has material out there since 7 years, has a thriving KZbin following (not so much on Spotify), and has by no means less views or followers over time. It's the opposite, they are starting off, where they were 4.5 years ago, when Covid-19 started. They had a 2 year hiatus and the search for a new bassist, last year, they had their comeback with new album, 2 live albums and Japanese Tour, this year, it's the world tour (and a new EP + live album). Expect more! Too many Metalheads are not even aware of their existence...

Babymetal is an idol band in metal clothing. Lovebites is quite a different beast, since most of the material is written by them. There's this misconception about Japanese bands, especially the female ones. That the record companies does have full control of their music.
