Lovebites started in 2016 by Miho (bassist) and Haruna(drum). Both came from the band called Detrose. Midori, the blonde guitarist did not pick up the guitar til the age 20. Miyako, the black hair guitarist is the most talented of all. She’s a concert pianist and self taught guitar at the age of 18. Asami was also classical trained and R&B influenced. Also has ballet training. They preferred white dresses and heels but not trying to be cute but be heavy. They can play fast and heavy. They can also play ballads and still sound heavy and melodic. These ladies are world class talents and they deserve worldwide recognition. Their 6th album is coming out soon and for sure there will be NO bad song.

Miyako, the dark hair guitarist, is also a classically trained since age 3 world class concert pianist. In their song, Swan Song with Chopin Intro, she takes an extremely difficult Chopin piano piece as the intro and then weaves its theme into the main body of the song as a masterpiece of classical heavy metal, the likes of which would have made Frederic Chopin proud and made Mozart to sit up and take notice. You should give us your reaction to Swan Song with Chopin Intro, it will be Interesting to see your analysis.

This is another awesome reaction. The cool thing is that their new bassist was selected because she adds EVEN MORE to the great guitar playing. Listen to their new song they just released a few days ago. The new bass player, Fami, is featured in the mix and she adds so much to the solos and to the chorus with her bass lines and great tone. The song is called "Judgement Day".

From France: This is the same concert as the one played on the "Set the World on Fire" video and therefore with the same constraints of sanitary distances and other health safety rules for the public. There is another version of this track played at Tokyo Zepp Divercity in 2020 where the atmosphere of the public is much freer and... crazy... At the very beginning of the video, ASAMI says, “This is last song.” Try RAISE SOME HELL if you like darker and heavier. With their latest song, JUDGEMENT DAY, introducing new bassist FAMI, each member of LOVEBITES has taken their game to a new level. For a better look at MIYAKO and MIDORI playing together, look for videos of them practicing guitar. I think you be thinking of vocalist MAYU, who was very pregnant when NEMOPHILA visited the US in July, and performed in Japan after that.

We've been repeatedly informed that Miyako was 5 months pregnant during this show. If you look carefully, you can actually see that somewhere around the 14+ minute mark. We are definitely looking forward to seeing/hearing Fami in action, hopefully will get to the JD reaction in the near future. Asami - vocals (writes the lyrics) Midori - blonde guitarist Miyako - guitarist and keyboard player - was pregnant during this concert Haruna - Drummer Miho - bass player who started the band and left in August 2021 Fami - new bassist hired October 2022 (not in this video) Every band member contributes to the writing of the songs and each one has written at least one of their songs by themselves. Miyako writes most of the music. A man named Mao (keyboardist from Lightbringer), who the band labelled as their unofficial and unseen "6th member", also helps to write a lot of their music.

Mao Yamamoto (born January 29, 1990) is close in age to the LOVEBITES members. She is also a kind of genius, and in addition to LOVEBITES, she has provided music and support for several artists, TV anime, games, and stage performances. For this Live in Tokyo 2021, she is responsible for the opening video.

@MyIndie Productions And I agree 💯 that there is NO duo like Midori / Miyako (aka M&M) in the genre today. No one like them in all of metal, possibly all music, period. They are in the elite class of Tipton / Downing (Priest) and Murray / Smith (Maiden), and in my opinion, better than both duos, no disrespect. They've only been together 6yrs or so and those guys have been doing it for 40. Not to mention the SPEED, omg, the speed they play at is nauseating, not to mention the complexities. And their harmonization is second to NONE, let's be honest, nobody harmonizes like them. Imho. Want to see a different side, yet absolute masterpiece by them: A Frozen Serenade live kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5aboYSMqpKFhJo. No other heavy metal band can do this...and it's live, no practice / prep. Just ridiculous.

She gave birth in August or September 2021. The guitar covers up her pregnancy. Asami(Vo) has been studying classical ballet since the age of 2. After graduating from high school, she moved to the U.S. to study jazz and hip-hop dance, where she was trained as a gifted musician. While studying in the U.S., she got hooked on singing when she sang the national anthem for a minor league baseball team, and after returning to Japan, she auditioned for various singing jobs. Originally, I was an R&B and soul singer. Originally, he had never listened to metal music at all, which he says was "music from another dimension. Asami can maintain a high e5 range. She also has a natural vibrato. Various vocal coaches have praised Asami's vocal characteristics. Asami (Vo) said in an interview that "The Crusade" is the most intense song on the album, so he, like Haruna (Dr), always gets into it before singing. They play quite different styles. Would be interesting to see what you think about songs like Swan Song och super thrashy Break the Wall. Lately they explored new directions with more progressive metal in Dystophia Symphony and symphonic metal in the brand new Judgement Day.

My comment was about the specific genre and story told here, which is really my kind of thing, YET, in spite of that, I LOVED the song and just watching them in action. They are absolutely fire on stage and all AMAZING within their specific roles/instruments. I look forward to doing a music video of theirs that isn't live just to see the difference. I used to think K.K. Downing and Glenn Tipton were the Ultimate in Guitar duo's. Lovebites changed that dramatically. Miyako and Midori have taking over by storm and continue. You're going to be amazed when you hear their new Track. You've not seen anything yet. Promise. I got into Metal by way of Classical. Miyako being Classically train Pianist and on top, playing the Guitar the way she does. Yeah, I call her the Evil Genius. You can hear they Gary Moore influence in her playing. (She's a Gary Moore Fan) . Just for reference, I'm a Thrash Head from way back. Favorite bands being Testament, Overkill, Exodus. Lovebites won me over. Didn't take long either. I (Itai) can already hear glimpses of the Gary Moore references here and there. This band is all talent. The reason this is such as surprise is because we don't expect this level of skill and instant connection this band somehow manages to easily achieve. We are loving the rabbit hole and will continue our slow descent down in coming months, one song at a time (we are keeping recorded episodes to first-time listens and therefore, can't binge their catalog 🙁). Lovebites is far from being the only band with dual lead guitars. In Japan, there's Nemophila, Aldious and Hagane (three all-female bands), Unlucky Morpheus, Versailles, and even Babymetal's backing band, the Kami Band. In America there's Polyphia and Animals as Leaders, just to name two.

We openly admit to being very late to the party with Lovebites, as we are with many bands that started sometime in the last decade or so. Great reaction guys . The musicality and skill of these ladies is off the chart , and IMHO unsurpassed by any other current band . Worth checking out their NEW song " Judgement Day " - their first with new bassist Fami and their first new music in a couple of years ( due to babies , change of line up etc ) - it's somehow got a richer , fuller sound than their previous stuff ( new album due out February ) . If you want to see the depth of Miyako's talent then I'd suggest either " Swan Song " ( with the Chopin intro ) or even " Spellbound " which will take you back in time ! BTW is it possible that you could do something about the quality of your sound ( the videos you're playing - not the reaction part ) - thanks

Thank you! Yes, they are absolutely awesome and we look forward to checking out the new song ("JD"), but want to get through more slightly older songs of theirs first in order to see that progression you are referring to. As for the sound, due to lack of resources and the fact we are recording from two different parts of the world AND are sharing a music video on the same screen, we have not been able to find software to accommodate for better sound as yet. Once we find a way and are able to afford it, we will. The current level of quality is more necessity than choice. We basically reached a point of either do it this way or not at all, and chose to do rather than not. Thank you for that feedback all the same, we really are trying our best. Sal, I (Itai) am the one full crap. I said that in general it's a "no-no" as most wear black in metal, which is fact. I went on to explain that they wear it for EXACTLY the reasons you listed here. Did you watch the whole episode? I said it right at that same spot. Regarding the video version choice, this was one that came with the first request we got to the song and that is what we use. If people send a link, we will use it as sometimes people want a specific version for whatever reason. In any case, thank you for viewing and taking the time to comment. We do hope to improve in the future, we are fairly new to this and learning on the go.

Yep, and this one won't be better than the last one in terms of reception because you chose wrong. I already see it coming. Why choose the presentation with much less views? The version that you overlooked is precisely the one with the best quality, almost perfect, and it's not this one... I can mention several factors that make this version inferior to the previous and much more widespread version of "Holy War", such as the bad camera work and the wrong Mix on the synthesizers, and why not say it, Asami's too nasal voice. You had only 2 alternatives and you chose the worst.

@@CrYou575 Do I really have to explain it?... Ok. It is simple logic. You search for "Holy War" and you have 2 options, the first from the official Lovebites channel, with almost 2 million views, I repeat, the OFFICIAL CHANNEL, and the other option uploaded by a fan, with a few thousand views. The number of visits doesn't tell you anything about which version is more popular? If one is much more popular than the other, maybe it's for a reason, right? Perhaps for some the version does not interest them. But I was watching the video and as soon as I found out which version it was, I stopped watching and wrote my comment, without seeing another second of the video. Maybe I am a minority, or maybe not, and that uncertainty is what they can easily avoid by following logic. That is the difference between a small channel and a big one, a matter of intelligence and instincts.

@@Actkqk3 While we understand your logic and frustration, you need to understand that we are not strictly a Lovebites channel and we do other reactions, etc. When we get a request, it is really a matter of first come, first served. The first request we got for this song came with a link, which is the one we used. Sometimes people want to see a reaction to a specific version of a song and we oblige, where we can. We don't check the videos or where they came from, anything we see in first-time reactions, is just that, for the first-time. We try to keep things genuine and we are also fairly new and learning as we go. Do we have room for improvement? Sure. Much. But does it justify such negative attitude from you? We're not so sure. In any way, we appreciate you caring and taking the time to comment. Not sure if it will make a difference or not, but just a reminder that kindness goes a long way. There are people on KZbin trying to make content in the hope it will make people happy in one way or another and they all work very hard at it. You just see a "video", but there is plenty of hard work and time invested behind it. Give us time, we'll improve. Try to be kind and you might get a more affective result as well.
