I'm a 70 year old roadie and have heard it all form the 5os,60s,70s,80s,90s up to present and and heard all the greats, but Lovebites is the the most talented and tightist band I have ever heard. 🐺🤘😊

I am 78 and grew up with rock and roll. First heard Chuck Berry and Presley in 1955. Grew up in the UK and saw all the great bands of the 1960s and 1970s. I would swap having seen all those bands for a ticket to a Lovebites concert. Best band in any genre out there.

@@jaywhite6910 I have just come into some money and if they don’t come to the U.K. or Europe next year, I will go to Japan or the States if they tour there. My problem is that I have MS and poor mobility but I am determined not to let that deter me. Like this reactor says, they have inspired me to spent more time playing the guitar. I am experimenting with Japanese scales and the Byzantine and Phrygian modes that Midori likes. The end of her solo in Set the World on Fire reminds me of Dick Dale who also used the Byzantine scale n “Misirlou”. 28:10 😊

Midori and Miyako are buddies from pre-LB days. Their old bands Gekijo Metalicche and A Drop of Joker (respectively) shared the bill at several club events some years ago (I saw them in the city of Osaka). They're both from Osaka (and retain some of that accent) and both took piano lessons from a young age. Miyako is self-taught on guitar, working her way through a Japanese instructional series called "Mechanical Phrase Training from Hell", while Midori studied at Musician Institute, taking part in seminars run by the late great guitarist of Babymetal's Kami Band Mikio Fujioka.

In addition, all drums are equipped with Roland triggers, and the sound is created by mixing the sound using the Roland TM-2 and TM-6 PRO modules with the live mics sound. The kick pedal was a Pearl Eliminator SOLO “RED” Double Pedal, and the beater was a Pearl Quad Beater B-250QB plastic vertical R side. And don't forget, Thunder Vengeance was the first song in a 2 hr show. Haruna keeps up that tempo for most of it.The stamina is impressive for sure. But she is a very efficient drummer when you watch her closely. No wasted effort.

This is one of those clips where you have to sit back, close your eyes, and play “guess what band this is”. If some old school classic metal head came on and said that Holy War was being played by Iron Maiden or Judas Priest, and Stand and Deliver was Motörhead, you couldn’t blame them for saying that, because that’s how good these ladies are. The harmonizing guitars would be exactly out of something like Number of the Beast, and Fami’s bass screams Ace of Spaces or Orgasmatron, or similar. And Thunder Vengeance? Founding member/bassist wrote this after seeing Slayer perform at Download Festival in 2018. No guesses as to what that sounds like. My point: You can easily tell the classic metal influence while staying fresh and having new material, and that’s a very very thin line to follow, which makes this band that special. They’ll be big here in the US just as they are in Japan, but don’t be surprised if they don’t get picked up as an opening band for Metallica or Iron Maiden (both know about LoveBites; besides, they already opened for Dragonforce), or make the main stage of some festivals here.

Awesome songs 🤘 I seen Destrose was mentioned so I'll give a brief history lesson on Destrose. Destrose formed around 2007 and in 2008 4 of the 5 members left and formed a band called "Mary's Blood". Mina carried Destrose on recruiting new members and in 2009 Saki (Nemophila) was very briefly a member of Destrose but left after a short period of time in 2009. In 2011 Miho (Lovebites) joined and in 2012 Haruna (Lovebites) joined. In 2014 Haruna retired from music and in 2015 Destrose dissolved. In 2016 Miho wanted to start a new band and reached out to Haruna and she joined in. Later they recruited Midori, Miyako, and Asami. Destrose was a revolving door of musicians and was a starting point for alot of musicians in bands we love today. From 2007-2015 Destrose managed to produce 1 full length album in 2013 and handful of singles and an EP. After Destrose dissolved in 2015, guitarist Narumi and drummer Risa formed a band called "Disqualia" and recruited guitarist Hazuki (Nemophila). Disqualia dissolved in 2018 and Hazuki went on to Nemophila with Saki. In 2012 Mary's Blood recruited Saki (Nemophila) and in 2022 Mary's Blood dissolved

Mary's Blood didn't dissolve. In fact at their last event, a meet-and-greet/autograph session in August last year, which I went to, they made a point of saying they hadn't dissolved. An "indefinite hiatus", as they put it, can mean the same thing as dissolution in practical terms, but with possibly varying legal and financial ramifications.

This concert took place in Tokyo on February 21, 2020. This was the third concert of the national "Electric Pentagram Tour 2020" that LOVEBITES held in support of their third studio album "Electric Pentagram" (released January 29, 2020). "Electric Pentagram Tour 2020" was scheduled to take place from February to April 2020. But the Covid-19 pandemic began, due to the difficult epidemiological situation (a lot of people got sick, people began to die), the March and April concerts of the "Electric Pentagram Tour 2020" were postponed to the summer. Note the black◾bands on each Lady's left arm‼ It is more like mourning bandages in memory of the victims of Covid-19. The ladies' dresses were sleeveless. Therefore, jackets with sleeves were worn on top of the dresses, on which black bandages were worn on top. After the first song ("Thunder Vengeance"), they took off their jackets and remained in dresses. But not because they were hot in jackets. In the "Electric Pentagram" Documentary, there is a scene where the ladies put on these jackets before going on stage. There you can see that the jackets are made of very thin material, almost like shirts. At the beginning of the concert (first song), LOVEBITES honored the memory of the victims of the pandemic, took off their jackets and remained in their concert outfits (dresses) for the rest of the concert.

Keep LOVEBITES in your future. 【From an interview with Asami(Vo) and Fami(Ba) for a magazine project in Japan】 When Covid19 subsided and the audience was able to speak up, Asami thought it would be nice to have a song that everyone could sing, both on stage and in the audience. Asami wanted to use the sound of "river" in the lyrics, but thought it would be strange to use "river" as the chorus. Asami found "deliver" and thought it would be cool if everyone shouted it out instead of just telling what the word means. For many Japanese, pronouncing and hearing the English "r" and "l" is difficult. From there, Asami arrived at "stand and deliver. "Stand and deliver" is a pirate term that apparently means "Leave all your money!" Asami thought that if he wrote the lyrics as they were, it would be a song about a "pirate king. Asami wanted to avoid that. Asami learned that "deliver" can also mean "to carry out" or "to be free" in addition to "to deliver. Asami uses "Stand and deliver" with the following interpretation and meaning. Stand up and be free! Rise up and be free! Arise and be free! Let's get up and be free! From there, Asami put the following thoughts into the lyrics. Nothing satisfies me. It's boring to be like this every day! Let's go more bouncy! Let's be bold and do something different! Let's break out of our shell! P.S. The mic stand setting that Miyako(G-Piano-Black hair) used was too high for Asami(Vo). Haruna(Dr) imitated the guitar work of Miyako & Midori's solo performance of "Signs of Deliverence" at the live concert. Haruna may have been watching from the drum position and thought it was cool. I have always felt that Asami is both a vocalist and an actress. Asami can sing in a variety of ways depending on the song. She has a wide range of belts from low to high(e5), and is able to perform them with certainty.

Thanks for the reactions. I'm sorry, but I would like to clarify . LOVEBITES is not an "Idol group" ! 🤗And they were never an "Idol group". An "Idol group" is a band made up of predominantly teenagers or relatively young adults. Advertising gencies, Music agencies or Record Labels find teenagers or young people and form groups of them and create "Idols". The organizations that create Idols decide what kind of music the "Idols" play, have complete control over their creativity, image, and even their personal lives, etc. LOVEBITES formed without the help of music agencies and music labels. The members of the band found each other themselves. At the time of the creation of LOVEBITES (2016), the age of most of the band members was approximately 25-28 years old. And everyone had experience in other bands : - LOVEBITES leader Miho played in at least 2 bands;. - Haruna also played at least in 2 bands; - Miyako played in 3 bands, and in one of them she was the leader; - Midori also had experience in another band; - Asami collaborated (backing vocals) with a large number of well-known musicians and bands in Japan (about 10). Experienced, highly professional musicians (Miho, Haruna, Midori, Asami) in 2016, without outside help, created LOVEBITES. They also brought in Miyako as their support musician. And for over a year she was a support musician. Miyako was only accepted into LOVEBITES as a permanent member in August 2017. Simultaneously with LOVEBITES, Miyako was also a member of two other bands (in 2016-2019). The new band was able to release the first EP about a year after its formation (in May 2017). A demo recording of their songs ended up in the record company Victor Entertainment. The label liked the demo and suggested that the band sign a contract and release an EP based on the demo. This is very briefly how LOVEBITES came about. Therefore, the definition of "Idol group" for LOVEBITES is absolutely not suitable.

I think, it's more like a "super group": Experienced musicians known to be world class combined in one super group with no weak links and everybody contributing to the success (individually). Plus they are getting closer and better all the time, improving their individual skills and pushing each other. It's funny, how new member Fami seems to push all of them to a new level!

@@rainerzufall42 Maybe you are right and LOVEBITES can be called a "super group". Fami fit in perfectly with the band. She needs to gain more experience in concert performances, especially at major international festivals. I think that in the next year or two this will happen and LOVEBITES will rise even higher in the international ratings of metal bands.

There was information that the band received several offers to tour abroad in 2024. And now LOVEBITES are considering these proposals, deciding when and where to go.

As they've expressed their vision to return to the mainstage in Wacken (they probably already would have done that, if not for Covid-19 and their hiatus), I found it realistic to expect them there in one years time (2023 is not possible). That brings me to my suggestion: Saturday, mainstage! Would love to see that!

Haruna (nicknamed The Little Big Engine by the band) is only 4ft 9in tall. Could the closeness of her kit setup be partly down to her limited reach? I think Stand and Deliver is the only video where she's not wearing gloves. 😊😊🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

Perhaps this will help you pronounce the name "Miyako" correctly. 😊Prior to joining LOVEBITES and for about the first 1.5 years of her association with LOVEBITES, Miyako used the stage name "Mi-Ya". On the first releases of LOVEBITES ("The Lovebites EP", May 2017 and "Awakening from Abyss" LP, October 2017), Miyako is introduced as "Mi-Ya". Correctly her name sounds like : "Mi - Ya - Ko". Miyako's name can roughly be translated from Japanese as: "Beautiful (Mi) - Child (Ko) - of Spring". Miyako's birthday is in the spring, April 5. Or another translation of her name: "Beautiful Child of the Night." Perhaps Miyako was born at night...🤔

There are several dozen kanji or kanji combinations that can be used to write "Miyako". The name can also be written simply with kana. It's not known publicly what kanji are used for LB Miyako's name but certainly your example "Beautiful Spring Child" sounds the nicest.

@@GrayFox14 There are so many possibilities for all the names, depending on which kanji are used. "Miho" can mean "Beautiful Treasure" or "Three Treasures", "Midori" can mean simply "Green" or "Beautiful Bird". "Asami" and especially "Haruna" have countless possibilities, but your examples sound very nice. Japanese names can be very difficult to read. Some names are seasonal references, and some have their origin in classical Chinese or Japanese literature. The kanji characters used in names can have different meanings from the usual ones. There are special readings of kanji used only for names. Also sometimes kanji are used for the sound and not the meaning.

you r closing in on it i see.. "destrose" is the "birthplace" of all of this. they never got fame. stil they struggled with lineup changes thru out. ASTIL all those that was in destrose made alteast one other band so you have a foamily tree of about 20 groups that started in that band.

Hey dudes. Sorry for my mistake. I am fairly new to Lovebites, so it's always good when someone corrects me politely. 😀. I just wanted to explain my confusion. I have four Lovebites cd's. One of which is "Heavy Metal Never Dies" Live from Tokyo Dome 2021. I didn't buy "Five of a Kind" at the time because it was like $100 or something. According to the play list on the one I own, Thunder Vengeance is the second to last song. So when replying, I grabbed the cd and saw that and figured it was the encore. So of course I looked up that video on here to make sure I wasn't totally crazy and it does seem that it could be the encore for that concert. And the entire concert does have it as the Encore. But the video here is clearly from "Five of a Kind" in 2020 because the intro dosn't match the 2021 intro without the curtain drop. Anyway, sorry for the mistake and thanks for the corrections.
