Miyako is a concert pianist and it was actually her first main instrument, which is impressive considered how good she is on guitar.

You will never find any average, let alone bad tracks from these women. They shred, always. There are some bad mixes in a few, but never bad playing or weak songs.

Yep, but still people don't seem to appreciate the musical quality of these ladies. The number of the subscribers to their official site is still low while other bands have way too many and they have definitely BAD songs in their repertoire. I hope the coming world tour will change things to better.

Great reaction ! Yes, it was ex-bassist, Miho, in this older video. Miyako is a virtuoso on BOTH the guitar and piano, and she's the one who hops from the piano to shred the guitar and then back to the piano. "Swan Song" is a neoclassical metal masterpiece from Lovebites. You can hear motifs from Romantic-era composers Chopin (intro, main riff, solo) and Dvořák (chorus) throughout the track. There is no end to the musical brilliance throughout the entire duration of this song - just when you think you've seen the peak, something else comes along to take your heart and soul to an even higher level.... Of course this is a Miyako showcase of extraordinary musicianship (the way she so calmly switches from piano to guitar and back again... magic!), but Asami, Haruna, Miho and Midori all stepped it up here. Haruna in particular is just on fire here. But the guitar solo is exceptional, particularly the harmony section. Genius. 🤘🎸🎹🐺

The Chopin intro is considered difficult to play because it is Left-Hand Dominate. The weaker hand of most pianist. It is used by teachers as an exercise to strengthen the lefthand. The other thing is she is playing from memory!!

Every time I listen to this song I feel slightly sorry for Haruna . While everyone is amazed ( quite rightly , and understandably ) at the incredible talent of Miyako they often , I feel , overlook one of the best Metal drum performances you will ever experience . Can't remember if you've done " Frozen Serenade " or " Epilogue " yet ( sorry ) but if not I think either of them will impress you . Enjoy ! PS Miyako's piano cover of " Eagle Fly Free " from her EP of piano covers IS A DELIGHT NOT TO BE MISSED !

Classically trained piano player (since age of 3), guitar player since age of 18, intense composer (umpteen Lovebites songs), parttime drum and bass-guitar player (since 2020), wife and mother (since 2021), and leisure time video editor (own YT channel). But, as a human being, she of course also has a dark side: she lacks boredom. 😂 To have such a multi-skilled musician in a band, is (of course) absolutely _outrageous_ , and deeply unfair towards many many other Metal bands. How are they supposed to compete. 😁😉

Symphony X and Dream Theater could do it. Eventide Harmony on the guitar, and the keyboard players would be doing the backing track and the guitar trade-offs. Rudess and Pinella can both play Chopin.

@@TheCyberMantis I don't dispute the have the skill (they absolutely do), but neither band has dual lead guitarists. However, I guess that in the same way as Miyako's piano mid song was recorded onto a track, Dream Theatre and Symphony-X could record guitar onto a track while the keyboard was played live for the whole song. So, bottom line, I guess I'm agreeing with you.

this song may sound more melodic and has the more classical vibe than other lovebites songs BUT also in this particular song haruna constantly plays 16 notes on her feet almost for the entire song... there is no other song from lovebites where haruna constantly plays 16 notes probably for 90% of the song.. DAYUM GIRL!!!

If You gonna react to LOVEBITES music video When Destinies Align and Winds of Transylvania (Vladlove version) is the way to go. not that the live versions is bad but this MV:s get that extra umph to the songs! Nice reaction. Miyako trained Classical piano from age 3 to 18. Taught herself to play guitar out of a book (seriously) when she was 18. She also plays bass (quite well) and drums (enough to keep time on demos she makes of arrangements for the band. It appears that her talent level rises to 'Musical Genius'. Also, she has written the music to about 1/2 of Lovebites songs - including Swan Song. 🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺
