The song Miyako played on the piano is "Chopin's Etude OP10, No12". In 1831, the anti-government movement "October Revolution" initiated by officers and civilians against the Polish government under the control of imperial Russia ended in failure with the direct intervention of the Russian army. Chopin learned of this news on his journey. He has lost his country of return. Around the time of the Russian invasion of Warsaw, "Etude OP10, No12" was announced in Paris by his agent. His agent exaggerated and promoted it, so it became known as the "revolutionary etude." Miyako composed "Swan Song" with reference to this etude and Dvorak's "New World". Based on Chopin's episode, Asami wrote the lyrics by superimposing Norse mythology and "Swan Lake". "Swan Song" is a requiem dedicated to the warriors who fought to regain their homeland, and is a masterpiece that only they can produce.

question... Wasn't that piano player that same girl that sings lead vocals? I thought so at least and was thrown back when Harry said that why don't they show the pianist... Would love the answer to that. And is Miyako the singer or was that the pianist. And if those were different people,e what is singer's na,e, what's the pianinsts na,e? Been wondering when you guys would get to this. Chopin (pronounced Show-pan) was a Polish-born Romantic-era (1800’s) classical composer and piano virtuoso who lived most of his life in France. He is considered one of the greatest classical composers of all time. Miyako, who composes a lot of Lovebites’ music, is a professional-level concert pianist, and was originally going to make classical music her career. When she was 18, she picked up a guitar, and is now one of the best metal guitarists in the world. She particularly likes the Romantic Era classical composers like Debussy, Dvořák, Chopin and Rachmaninoff. She composed “Swan Song” using elements of the New World Symphony (Dvořák) and Chopin’s Revolutionary Etude (official name Étude Opus 10, No. 12 in C minor). All five members of the band are Jedi-level musicians, but I think Miyako is a once-in-a generation talent, a true savant.

They are the best band recording and performing today. No contest. They are, as you say flawless. As for running around, not possible to a track in which you are harmonising at that speed, non stop. Lovebites performance matches whichever song they are playing. Check out either live version of “Don’t Bite the Dust” or “Raise Some Hell”, energetic songs matched by an equally energetic performance. They’re musicians, probably the best five musicians on one stage that I have ever seen in 62 years, they don’t need to distract the audience with unnecessary posing. That way, when they do let go every so often in the set, we the fans know it’s genuine. I love watching your faces when reacting to my favourite band ever… they’re always priceless.

Alek Hidell, Well said! About the running around on stage, I recall the band Death got some 'criticism' for just playing their music on stage while standing still and focusing on their playing. As you watch more and more of their videos, you'll begin to notice that their onstage personalities, including the way they sometimes just remain still, with somber expressions, is part of their theatrics. Their stage presence is usually thematically tied to the mood of the songs. This is a song that, despite being upbeat, is lyrically melancholic, themed about death and the dignity of death (and honoring soldiers who fought and died for their countries), so their stoic stage presence is sort of a respectful nod to that. There are other songs where they move around a lot, especially in songs where the overall theme is one of fun or joy (like We the United, or Raise Some Hell). In this one, visually Asami takes the spotlight, with her dance moves inspired by the Swan Lake ballet, which is also part of what inspired the song. At the end, you'll see that as the rest of the band cuts out and gives it back to Miyako on the piano, Asami portrays the swan falling slowly to the ground, as the piano outro represents the graceful dying of the swan. Although Swan Lake partly inspires the song, so does the Buddhist tale, the "Legend of Siddhartha and the Swan" (commonly just called "Legend of the Swan"), which tells the tale of a swan being shot out of the sky, and the debate over whether it belongs to the person who shot it, or whether it is its own master while it is dying, and is an allegory for people being allowed to die with honor and dignity and self-determination.

Lovebites tend to reserve the running about and interaction for songs in which it is appropriate. Swan Song, for all its glorious grandeur, is actually a sombre song about death and mortality; the swan song being the song of the dying swan, the last thing you do before you die. Being very conscious of the mood and meaning behind the song, the ladies keep everything more still and reserved apart from Asami who elegantly dances the swan throughout. I've heard one reactor criticise them for not dashing around and smiling during a performance of "Under the Red Sky". It's a song about the atomic bombing of Hiroshima for heaven's sake. Apart from anything else it would be downright disrespectful to the memory of Hiroshima's victims to be jumping up and down and grinning. If you want to see more onstage antics then take a look at one of their more fun, party songs such as "Dancing with the Devil", "Raise some Hell", "We the United" or something.

Miyako, the pianist/guitarist on right, she composed and arranged the song and Asami (vocal) wrote the lyrics. The song is an ode (requiem) for the fallen soldiers bygone, it's serious in nature; thus why they are more subdued. Just check out the lyrics. Talks of "brave soldiers, gallant warriors, valor to those who died in battle to Valhalla, God's Heaven, etc." Chopin Etude ("Revolutionary Etude") intro is NOT on the album, but they incorporated it here to bookend with Miyako's outro. The Etude is famous because it was released at the time of the failed uprising in Warsaw Poland during the occupation by the Russian Empire in 1831. Chopin is Polish and he was devastated. He would never sat foot in his homeland after. It is a very fitting intro to this song as it fits perfectly in theme and meaning of the song.

It's all about music, not a minstrel show nor musical. Do great jazz musicians running around or do great classic musicians jump off the stage into the crowd? Lovebites is serious music. Only serious music survives as you can see it in Japan now, and not in the States any more. Animated stage is fun to audience but it fades away the serious music.

Let me write that I have doubts about many reactors on KZbin. What is the most important value for rock music (& metal music) in the first place? I think it's "free" music. "Why does rock (metal) have to run around on stage?" "Why do they have to wear black clothes?" "Why do they need a growl?" "Why do they have to tattoo?" : Why do bands out of these styles get mysterious attention (both good and bad)? For example, it seems that many reactors are astonished (and favorably) with the white clothes of LOVEBITES. However, it shows that there is a stereotype in the background of that, "white clothes = not common sense of metal bands". (Am I the only one who feels this stereotype is common in America and Europe?) I believe that the value of rock and metal is to enjoy music freely, without being bound by old customs, shackles, or stereotypes. I think The Beatles 50 years ago brought the style of rock music = free music to Japan. Even now, 50 years later, it has been handed down in Japan as "rock = a way to enjoy free music." Japanese bands such as LOVEBITES, BAND-MAID, WAGAKKI-BAND, and BABYMETAL can feel the free style born from such an environment. (Don't get me wrong. There are definitely a lot of respectable bands in America and Europe.) I wrote about what I felt on a daily basis in response to the statement that LOVEBITES didn't move much on stage. ----------------------------------------------- from Japan * Sentences using a translation app. I hope the intention is conveyed correctly.

I'm jealous of you two, there are so many songs left for you guys.

Ok, I admit it…….I’m in drum kit love with Haruna! There, I said it! In reference to the movement in stage I have a couple of thoughts. Firstly, in regards to this performance, I wonder if their thought process was to have the focus on Asami with her ballet movements and Miyako going from piano to guitar and back to piano. Also, they could break their ankles running around in high heels lol. I could be completely wrong about it. Secondly, they’ve never been a band who moves around a great deal and even when they do move and interact with each other it often looks choreographed. You mentioned Nightwish and I’ll add Band-Maid to that, where there’s quite a bit of movement but it looks much more spontaneous, which I prefer. I’ll agree with David Gaston that just moving on stage without some sort of purpose is, in his words, “visual spam!”

Awesome reaction. Lovebites never disappoint. If you like the mix of piano with metal you should check out the masterpiece "Art of life" (live) by X-Japan. Yoshiki is absolutely insane at drums and piano.

They interact a lot when the song allows the interaction 😉 In this kind of songs you have to stay laser focused on the playing (as you know better than me). I love Nightwish, but the Empu guitar parts are far less “demanding” and he doesn’t wear 👠😅 Try with “Raise some Hell” kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJLQhIR6Za-IfM0 Thanks for reacting to Lovebites! 🐺🤘🏻

In the background You can hear the other Chopin Etude: Ocean, always recorded by Miyako!
I was giving them a like but changed to a big dislike when I heard the comment about the lack of movement. Lovebites very often act according to what the song wants to say. And that's the right way to make live music. They can't be laughing and jumping around during a sad song. EDIT: More than 3 hours later, I'm still wondering how this channel has one of the best reactions to Lovebites on all of KZbin (his first contact with the band with Holy War) and at the same time this one, which will undoubtedly soon be forgotten, mainly because of the lack of musical understanding when it comes to feeling a song and how musicians should behave when playing their role according to the feelings of that song.

These songs are so demanding and so proficiently performed I'm surprised that they can move as much as they do. This song requires a bit more concentration from the ladies I believe. Regardless LoveBites gives an Olympic Athlete Level of performance Every show.

I always get a very harsh sense of "DANCE MONKEY!" whenever reactors make this complaint. Like 4/5 Lovebites songs are either very technically taxing, so it makes sense they can't be doing cartwheels while playing them; or the tone of the song doesn't fit the playful nature you see in something like Raise Some Hell. But never mind that, how come the guitarists aren't walking around the stage?! Which would add to the quality of the song... somehow...

Piano synth and choirs and other stuff on back track. But all done by the members. It would been a problem to play guitar and piano at the same time :) They are just amazing musicans everyone...

Miyakos demonstation of power that just cant be denied. React to Raise Some Hell live, you will love how much they had interraction and movement on that one, pure awsomeness

They do have many songs where they interact a lot between themselves and the audience. But when you take into account what this song is all about you will realise that this is not the type of song for that. It's about the Russian army invading Poland to put down a revolution, in their usual brutal fashion. It seems they can't break that habit, even in these days.

Isn't that the primary thing about Metal though, especially power metal? It's classically based, vs Blues based, mostly. Thus it works well with Classical. See S&M. Apocalyptica, etc.

When you first reacted to LOVEBITES you said that they are there to entertain the crowd not each other this song is another example of that especially since the speed of this song is so fast jumping around on stage is pointless and may I suggest (again) Raise Some Hell live from Zepp Diver City) and Dancing With The Devil also from Zepp

Miyako combined 2 classical favorites in this nr 1"Chopin's Etude OP10, No12". And nr 2 "Dvorak´s New world sympony" That´s the one you hear on "Click" and finishing the song. Love from Sweden

One more thing. The piano melody in the background of the whole song is played thanks to a great computer technology, which is next to drummer Haruna. These piano melodies is created by Miyako (dark hair guitarist and pianist)!

Mao(maybe) is back stage playing keyboard for some of these songs. He helps compose some of these songs also. Think he has been since the inception. From what I remember Miyako doesn't like the Roland as much. I see a lot of people don't know about Mao

Good reaction! I want you twice. Please react WHEN DESTINIES ALIGN video. Mind blowing guitar solo.
Miyako recorded the piano parts and then they play them as a backing track since she can't play both instruments at the same time. (Or can she? - see Burden of Time).

Miyako records all the keyboard / piano backing tracks & controls them from her pedal board. You would think no human could play piano & guitar at the same time.......well she does that too, check out, " Burden of Time. " ❤🎙🎸🥁🎹😎👌

Uhhhh..no! She relies on feedback...how do you play keyboards and a guitar with two hands????
@lonniekramlich62412 жыл бұрын
@@lard1892 Have you watched Burden of Time ? She has one hand on the keyboard ( righthand ) playing the melody, while her left hand is on the guitar neck like she's playing chords, she's obviously not picking or strumming but she is pressing on them making sound....you can call that feedback if you want.

They really are much more static on stage with this song.. well not Asami :) but surely they know what are they doing. Not moving around and interacting is something no doubt they do on purpose. They proved many times they have no problem to play hardest music and play with audience at the same time. BTW you ruined one of the best moments in the song 11:08 between end of the solo and Asami start singing chorus. They created such powerful, intensive PAUSE.. you stopped right there and never went back 5 sec so you hear it. Cheers! :)

Very true, with Lovebites you can say that "who blinks loses", and they blinked more than necessary on this occasion. A shame. It seems that even though it's not their first reaction to the band, they still don't know that it's all quite a choreographed staging, that everything has its reason for being, including Asami's pauses and movements.

What's with this "Running Around" hang up so many reactors keep bringing up? You only need to understand what the song is about, to understand why they do what they do. Every movement or non moment has its purpose or it's just a waste of energy and visual spam. I know this because...I'm nobody important.😌
