Now after over 34 years in Metal, I came across quite many bands and music. Being from Germany myself, bands like Helloween in the 80s was what I really loved, because although I am good with all sorts of Metal, also Death Metal etc. but melodies in a way were always very important to me. Over time, there were so many great bands with melodies that still stuck in my mind, as much as old Helloween songs for example still do. Then you have bands like Dragonforce, which bring the melodies to a more happy and speedier vibe. Lovebites is really new to me, I dont understand how I hadnt heard of them til very recently. I knew Baby Metal, and that was ok, but never really got to me. Other japanese acts like Band-Maid, as much as they are very very awesome musically, didnt do it for me enough to make me wanna hear more from it. But Lovebites, it fully gives me the whole melodic Power / Speed Metal stuff I always loved since the old days of Helloween. Plus, i find it awesome, a band full of young ladies standing up to their mostly men counterparts in this music, and kicking it to the max. This has nothing to do with sexism, really not, so please dont take it that way. I find it awesome, Lovebites is going all in with their music. Thats the full force you would otherwise might not expect from 5 beautiful ladies, coming from a country where like unfortunately still so many, women are not really accepted as much as men. I feel, with all our technology we have achieved on this planet, as a people we are lacking behind somewhat. Women still have to fight for their rights, are seen less, in so many countries, whats the deal with that ? Cant we finally get passed all that by now, one woulld wonder. Lovebites show they can take it up with any of the other bands, and I mean any. There is nothing like, you know, they are just making the girlie kinda cutie band on KZbin to get clicks or whatever, which unfortunately still a lot do. No ! Lovebites show all the male metal dudes where the bell is ringing, and thats awesome. Their live stuff iis phenomenal, all the way. From sound, musiciansship and all of it. I am more than impressed, in fact they have become my favourite band right now. Thank you @Lovebites for being there and for showing the world, that women can be every bit as good as we men, even better i think in this case. ;) I hope many more women can speak up in a way like you have and show that. Make more of this incredible music, i already pretty much devoured all your so far produced albums and cant wait for more. Stay safe, stay as you are, rock on ! :)

俺このバンド知ってまだ2ヶ月足らず！バンドマンのくせにこんな上質知らなかったとか今更恥よね！笑 でも今まで見てきた中で一番のお気に入りなんだわ。特にこのギターのお二人さん、初めて見たときのギターソロ、SUGIZOと雅のギターバトルかってくらいの迫力だった！それにドラマーの俺が気にいったのはやっぱドラムのねえちゃん、もうタムとシンバルまわしがうまい！そしてベースのリーダーなのかな？その子の控えめさがバンドを支えてる！なのにテクはいいもん持ってんのよな！そんな中で歌ってるこのべっぴんのねえちゃん、気持ちいいくらい自分の実力発揮できるんだろね！もういい、歌がすげー事はわかってる、わかってるからいいってって思ってるのに更に限界突破してくる歌唱力が俺はたまらなく好き！ まぁ俺が知った頃にはすでにリーダー脱退したらしいけど、これからも活動してほしいし次にどんなの持ってきてくれるのか楽しみで仕方ない！応援してます！

ミヤコのディーンも最高だけど・・・泣きのギターならミヤコでしょう。二人の音が全然違うから最高なのですよ。私はいつも二人を評して"Midori howls and cries, Miyako sings and weeps"と言ってます。二人とも綺麗なメロディーラインを出すのですけどミヤコの方がメロディーに拘ってるみたいです（クラシック出身だからかな）。ミドリは自由奔放に飛ぶという感じでしょうか。 それからボーカルもベースもドラムも最高なんですけど。ミホなんかベースでタッピングしますからね。それも右手だけで・・・ありえないでしょう。それもライブでよ。ハルナはもうお手上げ（文字通りベースドラムだけでも行ける）だし、アサミの声量、声の伸び、音域の広さは凄いというばかりで声に破綻というものがないのですよね。あ、それからミドリはちゃんとギターを正規に学習してますから。ミヤコは天才だし。

ほぼ初見ですがエッジの効いた本格メタルバンドですね、曲、演奏、ボーカルも素晴らしいと思いました。ちなみに人気のベビメタさんと比べても王道メタルサウンドなのが嬉しい。多分日本ではメジャーは難しいと思うがメタルファンには国外問わずファンが増えると確信出来るバンド。

昭和40年代後半の生まれで、ボウイ、レベッカの時代知ってるし、ボンジョヴィ最盛期も知ってる世代だから、平成になってから今に至るまでクソみたいな日本のミュージシャンばかりしか目につかなかったけど、何十年か振りに、本物を見つけたよ。ガールズバンド日本史上最高のバンド。メタルは日本では評価されないけど、海外中心の活動で間違っていないね。他にもメタルのガールズバンドあるけど、LOVEBITESはレベルが違う。演奏の上手さと、ボーカルの声の色。曲もいい。文句なし。今の日本のミュージシャンで本物は、LOVEBITESだけ。

I discovered this band from the Wikipedia article "List of Power Metal Bands", and after listening to just this song, i already know that this will be one of my favorite bands ever. I love the music itself, and the fact that this is an all-female band is incredibly awesome, especially since they still maintain a very feminine appearance. I love that, because it shows that not only can girls play power metal music just as well as boys can, but they can do so without sacrificing their own femininity.

ま、確かに妥協してないかもしれないけど（妥協してるのもいるかもよ）、だったら能力が不足している、あるいは特定の方向（決してアーティストとして悪い事じゃないけどプロのパフォーマーとしてはあまり良くない）に行きすぎじゃないかな。マ、趣味だとしても間口の狭い音は行き先がなくなって堂々巡りをするだけ。彼はそれを“妥協”と感じたのじゃないかな。ラブバイツがメイデン、プリースト、ドラゴンフォースその他もろもろに似てると言われるのもその間口の広さからじゃないかな。とにかく聴くたびに新しい驚きを見せられるというバンドはなかなかないですね。

@@Sabundy Very true, and I can't explain it haha. I've wondered for a while what is causing all these all female bands to surface in Japan. As far as I can tell, it's a lot more than other countries. Especially there are a lot of all female rock and metal bands in Japan. It's a unique phenomenon. Perhaps this is happening in other countries as well? I'm not sure, but it appears to have become a trend in the Japanese music scene.

@@fadedsun303 all good questions. Imho it's that most Japanese people still buy physical media. And I think this helps a scene to exist, develop, and expand because the bands can actually sell albums and earn a living doing it.....kind of how it used to work in the rest of the world too. The 2nd aspect might be that Metal has always been popular in Japan even if it's not as popular as it once was. While of course it's not what the mainstream is listening to in Japan (that would Asian idol crap) there remains a large and dedicated enough audience for metal in Japan to support a scene (bare in mind Japan is still the 2nd largest music market in the world). Remember you don't need mainstream adoption for a scene to thrive. Especially if the market is big enough.....as it is in Japan. And finally, I think you may just have a younger generation of Japanese women that are classically trained musically and they want to cut loose and have fun with it. And metal more than any other genre allows them to do this.

Great song performed by beautiful Japanese women who happened to be high-class musicians. All this goes without saying. I wanted to comment on their samurai alter-egos in the MV which I found very interesting and somewhat funny. Asami: Somehow her transformation from a gorgeous graceful singer with great voice into a squad commander worked. She really looks like one. Miyako: If somebody had told me she came from a long line of samurai warriors, I would not have doubted it for a second. She nailed the look. Midori: The most menacing-looking veteran samurai. Miho: Good enough. Haruna: She is too cute for the role (obviously I am saying it as a compliment). She is not going to intimidate her enemies by her look. Give her drum sticks however... All in all, this is probably my second-liked MV of theirs right after Judgement day. Oh, and Rising is my second-liked too. And Shadowmaker. And Nameless Warrior. And.. Heck, I like them all. I have yet to find a boring song from them.

A skilled musician is not something you just are, it takes an insane amount of work to get to that level and they definitely put in the effort! I have to agree with the rest of your comment though, even after listening through their entire discography I have yet to find a song I don't like. Even if there's a song where I feel like one part isn't up to their quality, other aspects of the song shine enough to make up for it. @@destiniadestinia8444 ご教示ありがとうございます。 確かにライブでの演奏力は本物ですね。その昔、アングラのデビューアルバムからキャリーオンという曲があり、ライブで再現できないだろうと後ろ指を刺されていたにも関わらず、寸分違わぬ演奏力に驚愕したのと似た衝撃を受けました。91年のJUDASPRIEST、ペインキラーツアーを代々木体育館で観ましたが、久しぶりにヘビィメタルバンドのライブに行ってみたいと思わせてくれるバンドが日本国から現れるなんて予想もしませんでした。素晴らしい水準のアーティスト集団だと思います。

Five incredibly stunning Japanese women playing such good metal, what's not to love? 😍😍😍 Haruna - you are incredible, putting more established male drummers to shame Miho - I love your bass playing and the way you rock while playing it Minori - such a frenetic pace, and you make it look so easy Miyako - you make playing the guitar look so effortless even when your riffs are incredibly complex Asami - just wow. The way you manage to project your voice through the denseness of this awesome power metal to somehow still lead the band is nothing short of spectacular. I know. The last power metal album that had blown my mind was Judas Priest’s Painkiller a too long while ago. In fact I started listening to this genre again after over 10 years just because of them. Lovebites is the best I’ve heard in the last two and a half decades. Same as other Japanese bands I’ve heard… Where the Europeans failed to keep me interested in power metal a long ago, Japan delivered ❤

There are no weaknesses here - every member of this band is rediculously talented and their songwriting skills are crazy good. Lovebites clearly plays circles around 99% of bands out there and they deserve huge success.

They have a couple of weaknesses: a) the singers pronunciations (I assume that will get better with time) b) The songs have a little too much layering and a little too much going on (Nightfall and Night At The Opera Blind Guardian had this problem too). But I agree they deserve huge success.

@@MetalPersonJ I disagree on both your points. Layering is awesome, and Asami sings very clearly. Yes, she has a Japanese accent, but I can understand most all of her words just fine. I happen to LOVE her accent! It serves to remind us of where they come from. I like that. Wolfpack for life!

Wow, suprised to see comments arguing who is best female band, i'm 63 so been listening to metal since it began. Lovebites, Band-Maid, Baby Metal, are all fantastic, they each have their own distinct sound, I like Lovebites cause of the thrasher sound, Band-Maid cause it has a wider range & Baby Metal cause they are so entertaining. Not going to pick a favorite just glad to see I still have so many options of Metal to listen to, also been following some German bands & Canadian. Feels great when you have been told for the last 40 years that Rock is dead, Disco was supposed to take over then Rap & Hip Hop, so don't argue be happy & support the ones carrying on the Metal tradition.

初めて見つけた日2時間聴き続けてしまったー。 最初から〜終わり方までかっこよすぎる！演奏はメロディックメタル好きにはどストライクだし、メタル特有のハイトーンボイスは女性の声がピッタリや！やっとジューダスやドラゴンフォースから卒業できる時が来た。 あとみやこちゃんのクールな目と何だか艶やかな演奏にやられちゃいました。 なかなか再生回数が伸びていないが、いつか成功することをおじさんは願っております。

I only recently discovered Lovebites. I saw the Zepp Tokyo 2020 video for "Holy War". In 30 seconds.... it was GAME OVER. New favorite band. For the past 20 years, my #1 band has been Symphony-X. Now.... Lovebites has the top spot. I never thought I would ever find a band that could match Symphony-X. Let alone.... top them. I'm still in shock.
