Be prepared for the Wolfpack (fanbase name) invasion on your channel! Lovebites have won the Metal Hammer Golden award for Best new band in 2018 (formed in 2016) and have performed in some of the biggest metal festivals in Europe like Wacken Open Air, Bloodstock, Download UK and Madrid and also toured with Dragonforce in the UK. They are a power metal band, but they also have thrash , power ballads, speed metal, even prog rock/metal songs. Asami (vocals) comes from an R&B/soul background. Haruna (drums) and Miho (bass) are former Destrose members. Midori (blond guitarist) started playing the organ and became a guitarist at the age of 20. Miyako (black haired guitarist) started with piano at the age of 3 and only picked up the guitar at 18. She has a degree in Musical Education and is a concert level pianist. They are currently on hiatus because Miho left the band last August, but they announced just today their bassist auditions, so they are bound to be back soon. Their MVs are great, but you can only get the full vibe by watching the live recordings. If you like this kind of music, you 'll see they can do no wrong. The 4'9" tall drummer does that all through the live show which lasts about 2 hours each. These are my advise to you. 1. Chose live if you got a choice, they are just flawless. 2. Try to avoid Bloodstock Open Air live because recording quality is so poor and we Wolfpack hate that. 3. Do not judge what they are before you listen at least 5 of their songs. They crossover subgenres and got influences from all the great bands of 70s, 80s, and 90s such as Maiden, Priest, Metallica, slayer, Megadeath, Angra, Dragonforce, Helloween, and old guys from romantic era classic composers such as Rachmaninov, Chopin, Beethoven, and Dovolzark. There was once a band called Destrose. Destrose didn't put out a lot of content, but they had a lot of members come and go. Their second a final bass guitarist was named Miho, and the second of their three drummers was named Haruna. When Destrose finally called it quits, Miho and Haruna got together with two guitarists named Midori and Miyako; they all knew each other from the festival scene. Midori and Miyako's respective bands had either officially split up or faded out. The four of them needed a singer, and an R&B singer and backup rock singer named Asami had put out a demo because she wanted to do something different. The five of them got together and played and thought it would be a good fit. Over the past few years, they've put out three albums, three EPs, one single, and a bunch of live content. They toured the UK with DragonForce, played at Wacken 2018, and won an award from Metal Hammer. Unfortunately, in August of 2021, Miho shocked everyone by leaving the band for undisclosed reasons. The band immediately went on hiatus. During that hiatus, Miyako got married and had a baby and Asami got married and cut her hair to just above shoulder length. Just recently the band announced that they are back and are about to begin auditions for a new bass guitarist. They've said that the person can be any age, any nationality, and either gender. I'm going to go for it, though I hope they pick a pretty, short, and highly-skilled Japanese woman.

almost all commenters will recommend live versions of all the songs and i agree that live is the best. but this mv along with 'shadowmaker' gave most of the fans their first taste of this amazing band. and this one in particular is a great starting point as the contrasting personalities are highlighted by the difference between the beautiful metal warriors and the badass samurai warriors. either way they are just plain badass. can't wait for their return with a new bassist. and you are gonna get a solo all right !

I wouldn't really compare them to Band-Maid. Sure, they are both female bands from Japan, but other than that there aren't many similarities. Lovebites play a lot faster, more intense music. Nice reaction, man! You just start it, that's why you can say that they sounds pretty simillar to Dragonforce.. But one thing you should know, They can be Dragonforce, they can be Iron Maiden, they can be Megadeth, or even Slayer, and much more.. Lovebites is a band that doesn't stuck in just one particulary style or genre.. They've already create a hard-rock, metal, and even a power ballad song.. Even though their main genre is power metal, but they're always put a different element on each of their song, so you can feels a very different style from every Lovebites song.. Lovebites has some other songs with nice chord progressions, like Glory to the World, Winds of Transylvania, Swan Song and Nameless Warrior. You can hear the influence of classical music, sometimes with quotations of classical pieces but usually more indirect.

I'm sure I'm not saying anything that hasn't already been said in the comments, but where the option is available, go for live. They are one of about 3 bands on earth that I will only listen to live versions of, they actually somehow sound better live than on the albums imo. They are incredibly diverse musicians too, able to move between basically every subgenre of classic metal. Thrash, Power, Symphonic, Glam, Prog... Literally anything, they take the best bits, get rid of the filler and update it to modern, exciting songs. I'm gushing a little bit, but they are honestly fantastic. Also, Haruna Ishikawa at 4ft8/9 is one of THE BEST metal drummers in the world, without exception, and I will not be told otherwise. As a former drummer myself, her kick work, symbol accents and explosive fills, combined with off-beats and a near nonstop pace... I could only dream of being that proficient. Songs to check out; The Awakening/Hammer of Wrath, The Crusade, Set The World On Fire, Edge Of The World, Swan Song, A Frozen Serenade, Break The Wall, M.D.O and Scream For Me. Anything from their 2019 Daughters of Dawn or 2020 Five of a Kind concert DVD's. They aren't posted officially, but a lot of it can be found on KZbin. You shouldn't have blocking issues if you stop and talk periodically. Like you usually do.

You made a good choice. Yes, you will want to graduate to live clips, but this really gives you a perfect introduction to what this band is about. But their influences go far beyond Dragonforce (they actually are good friends with DF and toured with them just before the plague). Some background: They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and soul of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the greatest European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands. The whole group then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed most of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters. This is one of their usual first songs for reactors, and rightly so--you get a good sense of the band. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like a demon). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band." As with pretty much any other japanese band, you should check them out live rather than the music videos (not that the videos aren´t great, but live just gives the best experience). yup.. wonderful musicians, they are focus on power metal. But if you listen to the whole album the proportions are 50% power metal, 20% thrash metal, 20% progressive metal 10% hardrock & ballads. LOVEBITES and the newer NEMOPHILA are elite Japanese metal bands. Every musician in both bands is technically brilliant. try NEMOPHILA as well. Japan has hundreds of bands that are amazing, not just Bandmaid.

This is for me their worst song, you didn't see nothing from them. Lovebites is my favorite band so I hope you bring more reactions of them. I can't suggest a song because all of their songs are a 9.0 or more. Just a recomendation react to some live stuff
